Hum in the system
You can buy a cheater plug from any hardware store - it is essentially a 2-prong plug, with a 3-prong socket on the other end into which you can plug your component's 3-prong plug. It is NOT intended as a device to drop the ground - it has a littl...
psb vs, klipsch.
I agree with the others here that PSB speakers are incredible. They are amazingly balanced across the sound spectrum and remain one of the best values in audio. I have not heard the Image series but I HAVE heard the alphas, the Century series as w...
interconnect for CAL delta/alpha pair
The DH Labs D-110 AES/EBU cable is a tremendous value - there seem to be quite a few DH Labs dealers on Audiogon offering great deals. I have the D-75 (75 ohm) cable and I couldn't be more pleased.
Hum in the system
A quick follow-up. It turned out that the hum was caused by a faulty power supply. MSB sent me a new power supply and voila!, no hum. I don't need to use the cheater plug any longer, which I am really glad about. Again, thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks for all your responses. I was on the phone with MSB tech support and their suggestion (after we had tried a couple of other things) was to use a cheater plug. That worked.
Cable tv induced power hum
I forgot - for info on MAGIC, here is the URL: http://www.mondialdesigns.com/acurus/acuhomef.htm Good luck!

I agree with Flyguy and Jaguar. The Mondial MAGIC works, and is the "correct" way of solving a ground loop problem. And, no, I don't work for Mondial - just a fan of intelligent engineering.
Cable Recommendation
I would try something neutral like the DH Labs T-14. Kimber may turn out to be too bright for an already bright speaker like the NHT. Harmonic Tech is great, but I think the T-14s offer unparalleled bang-for-buck.
Alleviate brightness by using tube pre?
Thanks to all of you for your thoughtful responses. A lot of my troubles are definitely room-related. I have a couple of -2 to -4 db dips at the 80-100 Hz range and some +5 db spikes in the 1.5 KHz and the 5-6KHz range. Moving the speakers closer ...
