Small room....treating 1st reflection points
You're going to need broadband absorbers for your reflection points, and DEEP traps in your corners and rear wall. Foam won't do much of anything. Check out the GIK site for info. Lots of good info on the Gearslutz site too.

The Focals do sound a bit bright right off the bat, no doubt because of the BE tweeter. You really have to break them in good. Hundreds of hours good. If your ears are sensitive to the initial brightness, there are controls on the rear panel to ta...

I should have probably stated that I have not heard the Opals, so I can't really compare them to the KH 310. I owned the Focal Twin 6 BE monitors in the past, and thought they sounded great as well after a long break in period. I could easily live...

I own the KH310A. They are an absolute pleasure to listen to. Being a sealed system, nothing is bloated or hyped. If the recording is good, it will sound good. If it's bad, well, you get the idea. This is what should be expected from a pro studio ...
Good speakers to be placed close to rear wall
Neumann KH310A - 3 way, no ports, active design so no need for an amp, and they go plenty low.
Harbeth Compact 7s vs. Pioneer's $129 speakers
I've not heard the Pioneers, but I'd like to. I have sealed ATC SCM20SL and they're great. I'm expecting a set of Neumann KH310A any time now. As far as vacuum cleaners go, I own a Dyson and I'll never buy another. It clogs easily and doesn't work...
Pro audio amp vs. residential amp
I also purchased the Crown XLS 1500, not primarily for 2 channel stereo, but for a small rehearsal PA system. On a whim, I decided to try it in my main living room 2 channel system. I currently use a pair of Channel Islands D-200 class D with a pa...
Has anyone tried an amp from Class D Audio?
Hello Response34, Knowing who you are, I feel confident with your confirmation of the 470. I'll have to give it a try. The Timepieces are just silly good. They are the centerpiece of my system, and will be with me till the end. Best audio purchase...
Has anyone tried an amp from Class D Audio?
Thanks Springbok10 - I've been using CI D-200s on my Timepiece 3.0s, but I'm considering trying the SDS 470 with them, and moving the CIs to a pair of ATC Passive 20s in my home studio. I've always had a "you get what you pay for" mentality, and ...

Has anyone else received their amp lately and have any comments on it?

Springbok10, Any luck with that new amp yet?
Does Aether Audio still exist?
It's a bit sad, considering Bob built me the best sounding speakers I have ever had. spence
ATC SCM20SLs en route Stands, cables...
I'm doing the same wiring config as you with the coppers. I've also got a pair of Signal Cable silver bi-wires, and to tell you the truth, I don't think I'm hearing much if any difference. Imagine that. The Hypex amps are driving them effortlessly...
