I Ordered a Pair of SP Tech Speakers
Tboooe, I haven't received my speakers yet. I'm not exactly telling people to run out and buy them. I'm just suggesting that people take a look at them if they're in the market for a new pair of speakers. SP Tech doesn't get much mention around he...
Size matters...need smaller speakers
I agree with Fsarc. Take a look at SP Technology.
Any Newer Class D Mono Amps On The Horizon?
Mdrummer01, The Channel Islands D-500 cost $4500 for the pair! That's out of my range. I'm hoping to find a used pair of D-200 for around $1500. Eldartford, Are you saying that I can buy a kit somewhere? I wouldn't know what or where to look for t...
Top Speakers for Nearfield Listening in Small Room
I second the SP Tech Timepiece 3.0 monitors. Mine are on order now. No sense in spending $20k on speakers in my opinion.

Mrjstark, Thanks for your suggestion of the Little Dot. Unfortunately, my speakers are 85 db efficiency into 8 ohms, so I think I'll need a bit more power. Probably 200 watts to be safe.

Starcon, I'm sure the Levinsons are nice, but you're probably right, they'll be way overpriced. I'm looking in the $2.5k range.
Why no trading?
My sister looks like Imagene Coca. I'll trade one Ethel Merman for one Imagene Coca.
We have a Winner -- Major "MINI" monitors
I ordered a pair of Timepiece 3.0's yesterday.
active professional monitors for HT
The Mackies would probably work just fine. They cost half as much as the Focal Twin 6's too. You might ask what do you get for twice the price? You get to take the blanket off the Mackies. The tweeter in the focals just plain rocks. How do I know ...

If you can swing an extra $850 per pair, get the Focal Twin 6. I just sold my Von Schweikert VR-4SR MK2's ($12K) and I'm in heaven with the 6's ($2850 pr).
My VR4SR MK2's.......now I get it
Keithr, Trust me, there's a major difference after breakin. Like a new baseball glove that's stiff at first but loosens up after it gets pounded for a while. I too was skeptical in the beginning, but decided to wait it out and I'm glad I did. I se...
Sim Moon Eclipse does it really sound cold &hard
I owned the Eclipse for a couple of years. It was my first "high end" player and I thought it was great. Then I heard the Bluenote Stibbert and realized that the clarity that I was hearing with the Eclipse just didn't hold a candle to the warmth (...
Record Sleeves - Which ones and where?
Hi Mark, The ones I got from Music Direct don't have any writing on them at all. They don't have a re-sealable flap. Mine are open on the end, and are just a tad bit cloudy. The Sleeve Town sleeves are crystal clear. My Music Direct sleeves were t...
Record Sleeves - Which ones and where?
I just noticed that Sleeve Town has the outer sleeves on sale right now (5.0 version). Get em' now guys, it's a good deal.
Record Sleeves - Which ones and where?
I finally received the free sample sleeves from Sleeve Town. The poly lined paper sleeves are identical to the ones I got at Music Direct (Nitty Gritty). The outer sleeves were the same quality as the ones from Music Direct, but were completely (a...
