HOW MUCH DO NON-AUDIO FACTORS INFLUENCE YOUR AUDIO PURCHASES?
My decisions in audio are and have been solely based on sound only that is what has led me to a much different system than i would have ever imagined i would have had twenty years ago. When you base your decision on sound and create a system on so...
Stereo systems are like Harleys
Yeah we all have our own ideas but not only that diferent experiences and ears make the differences as well, but the main difference is listening time to music the more you listen the more you will know what good sound is.
what are some of best tonearms you own or experience with.
I am simple so i really like the rega rb900 or rb600 tonearms i have never had one that did not sound wonderful.
6000 dollars CD player
I would go for an accuphase or a luxman cd player in your price range they both would go good with the rest of your gear.
LS50 and Classical
To get a good full sound on classical that is not not two dimensional and flat requires a large free standing speaker capable of prodigious output and sound i do not know of any bookshelf model that will play classical correctly except for a full ...
15 foot RCA cables out of TT with no pre amp?
The main issue is not only loss but noise you want to keep the connection to the turntable as short as you can due to these reasons try to arrange a way for that to occur so you do not develop noise or hum.
Warm, rich but detailed SS preamp (made you give up tubes)
The luxman and accuphase are good choices but so are a lot of really good vintage solid state pre amplifiers like the tandberg models, the apt holman preamp, the harman kardon citation 11 pre amp, and the adcom gfp750 pre amp.
Finally found THE SPEAKER!!!
I have not heard about wisdom since harry pearson wrote about them for a review in the absolute sound but i can assure you that many speakers never made it to his room just like they never make it to mine either and for the same reasons that you d...
Clearaudio Satisfy carbon tonearm front to back movement.
I am not that familiar with clearaudio arms but i would say that the unipivot point has worn a bit and that is why you notice the slop or movement in the arm now after 10 years but this is my best guess.
Sell LP's: No visible scuffs. Let buyer remove static if needed?
They will buy them for sure if static is the only issue especially if they want the vinyl at all a reasonable piece of music that is liked is always wanted.
My really dumb tube mistake(s)
Yeah it is funny how you do not realize the sound falling off until you replace tubes and then have the wow moment, why did i not think of this before lol.
Suggestions for New CD Player
I have had or personally seen a lot of problems with cambridge and rega cd players i would go for a widely distributed brand if you have any problems from a dealer in your area their are a lot of fine players for under 1500 dollars new and used. T...

Tube amp Friendly Speaker That Sounds like Klipsch Cornwall
Altec lansing malibu 843a or an electrovoice interface c or d or an electrovoice carlton, georgian, or cardinal. Also you should listen to a large klipsch made prior to 1981 like the belle or k horn.
Shinjitsu Audio
I have no experience with them but i do have ess amt 1a speakers with the large heil tweeter in them and i can say that you have to spend a hell of a lot more to get even close to the sound of the true heil tweeter.
