What happened to scammer Noah Schumacher?
Probably still at large, there is nothing on the internet about him other than the arrest story.   With only a 5000 $ bail, I doubt anyone is seriously looking for him.  Eventually, he will turn up and get arrested, they always do.
Question for Audacity Pros!
Have you called tech support?
Musical Paradise Int Amp MP 301 MK l : A FUSE Question
I don't have this amp, so I can't answer your question.  However, the real question is: are you blowing fuses?  If not, I wouldn't worry about it since a fast blow is somewhat safer for your equipment than a slow blow, assuming a slow blow was ori...
NEED TO REPLACE OLD FAITHFUL- WHICH AMP. SHOUD I CHOOSE
Here is an out of box thought.  Since you said the "caps blew out" which tells me they are power supply filters, as those are the ones most likely to blow.   If the capacitors you mentioned are indeed in the power supply, you can put in capacitors...
Intermittent low hum/buzz
@bikeboy52 That "buzz" in the midrange is most likely AC line harmonics seeping in through parasitic capacitances and parasitic inductive coupling in the chassis, line cords, and developing a voltage on your shields.   You do need to get rid of it...
Calculating PreAmp Gain in dB for accurate callibration in Raven Software
I don't believe you can attach photos or jpegs here, which is really annoying.  But, from what I read in your post, it appears your numbers are correct.
Choosing the right SUT for my setup
@artemus_5   It isn't a cut and dry question.  When using an active stage for MC with increased gain, one has to either design a separate preamp with added open loop gain or there will be a compromise between the two gains, that is, the gain for M...
How much air does my preamp need?
Do follow the manufacturers directions.   They didn't ask for a lot of space because it looks cool.   They know the more space they specify the harder it will be to include their product in some setups.  More ventilation is always better than less...
Freya + ( Plus) Capacitor Mods - Reposted and Flagged My Last Post for Removal
Tubes can make a difference, to be sure.   So do caps.   However, the losses in a capacitor are well understood and documented.  I get suspicious on capacitors that state they are '... so much better ...' but give no specs other than some mechanic...
Cabinet resonance problem with Marantz MM9340 amplifier
A final follow up on this resonance problem.  I covered the inside of the unit with DynaMat Extreme.  Turns out, it helped significantly!  I put two layers under the transformer and that seemed to help as well.   It reduced the resonance a bit but...
How can I tell if I am overdriving the amp or the speakers?
Your first clue is the sound taking a nose dive.   Becoming hard, brittle, annoying, listener fatigue, etc.   The second clue is any warning LED on your amp.   The third is blown fuses.  Your amp may not be clipping but may be current starving at ...
Help
I am sure it is not worth repairing, given what is available today.  Try this link at Parts Express.   It's the same size amp that is in the Sunfire.   There are smaller power amps available too, for a little less money.  500W is $140 less.  The o...
An electrical engineer on how power cables can impact sound quality
Although there is some RF coming in through the power line, most of the RF noise injected into our systems come from the nasty garbage we have in the room with our equipment.   Namely, all digital equipment, laptops, desktops, microwaves in the ne...
AudioQuest PowerQuest 2 or alternative?
That market is so competitive that I doubt there is a deal to be had at any reasonable price point.   AudioQuest has built a reputation so I am sure they won't want to tarnish their name.   I think you are pretty safe with that approach. BTW, don...
Reasons not to freak out about tube supplies
Nice!  Thanks for posting!   This applies to a lot of things, especially selling off real estate in CA right after an  earthquake!    Man, you can buy acreage for 5 cents on the dollar.
