Help- Denon DP59L...
Thanks for the tough love. Acting on Twl's advice I am attempting to lear about this alignment stuff. I purchased a tracking force gauge and adjusted the tracking force upwards, but not too much upwards, which completely solved the problem. Now I ...
What SS amp do you use with your SF Line 3?
I have tried the BAT VK-200 and it worked very well. Great control of the lower frequencies, very smooth and balanced inputs.
Preamps w/ built in Tuners
I looked for one of these and you will find that the most common are Adcom and B&K. I got a Hafler 945, which was very good as I didn't want something run-of-the-mill, and it has a good tuner section with remote control of all major functions....
Why the lack of interest in Accuphase?
I think it is because in the USA you don't see Accuphase all that much. I have been doing this for awhile and have never seen Accuphase in person! People are more comfortable with Krell (ouch!) and such, so dont' feel bad, someone will want it eve...
Error in Upsampling Certain CDs?
Treyhoss, thanks for the info, you are awesome! Tell you what, I will get a new version of the wall and post if I have problems, since probably the deemphasis of the "emphasis" is the problem. I'll email you with results and also if I find another...
Counterpoint 5000 owners....
You might want to go ahead and give Mike Elliot a call. He answers the phone himself and is happy to talk shop with people like us. Have had a good experience with him when asking about his amplifiers.
Error in Upsampling Certain CDs?
Treyhoss, thanks! Let me know what you find out. FYI, I have also encountered problems with certain satellite broadcasts on dish network.
What is the thingie on the WBT Bananna Plug
Well, my "problem" is the same as everyone else here, wanting this stuff in the first place, so I don't know if that's fixed. But seriously, thanks to everyone for the assistance.
What is the thingie on the WBT Bananna Plug
Gunbei, you have got it right, and Motorpsychos I think has the solution I was thinking of, its good to see people with the same problem at least. No reason performance wise not to cut the plastic dealie off and use it anyway.
What is the thingie on the WBT Bananna Plug
Yes, I am referring to the angled plugs. See the situation is that my speakers have 4 flush holes in the center of the rear of the speaker for biwiring with bannanas, they do NOT have binding posts. So if that plastic dealie is designed to hit or ...
Biggest Baddest Audio Cables
The PS audio Lab II cables are very big and ver shielded.
Alice and Chains
I also enjoyed this type of music. Its sad to see another one go in this way. Not much else to say.
Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits
You should try the other Dire Straits albums. They are actually much better. I would also recommend to you Peter Gabriel' "so" the Door's Greatest hits. You should also like the Dido album and the Counting Crows- August and Everything After, but n...
How many cd/dvd/sacd/cdr's players do you own?
You guys are out of hand. Lets see I have a Cary CD 303/200, a Revox B-226, a Sony Portable, an Alpine in the Car, a Playstation with CD, a Playstation 2 with a DVD, an old Nakamichi, and a computer with a cd player. That makes 8. Good thing I nee...
How to? Add a Pre/amp for 2ch to a HT receiver
Yes, the "pass through" has no gain, so it just gives your amp whatever showed up at the input. This is useful for setting the level controls of your pre/processor so you get consistent results. Plus there is less distortion since you bypass the v...
