Wilson Benesch ACT1 VS Dynaudio Confidence 5 AjaziThe deep bass that all but a few of the most expensive speakers produce is really just junk. Slow, with doubling and lots of cabinet resonance, muddy and it often smears the most important part of the music, the midrange. In addition you end ...

RMAF 2008 - Your impressions,... I don't play CD's that only sound good through our system. I play CD's that allow the listener to hear what is special about our system. An easy example. We had with us the Torus Infrasonic Generator from Wilson benesch. Some people wanted us to d...
SS Preamp suggestion please You might look for a deHavilland Ultraverve on Agon. At a retail of $2,500, add $500 for remote this is a world class preamplifier. There is are plenty of reviews to validate that on their website. deHavilland is making (by hand) audio classics, t...
RMAF 2008 - Your impressions,... The CD's...Most that folks brought in not only did not highlight the capabilities of system. I think I only hear a couple that I would have used myself. I suppose that is to be expected. I try to play music that actually breaths life into the perf...
RMAF 2008 - Your impressions,... GloryYou are correct. Our room at the RMAF featured the Playback Design and other gear most folks have never heard. We did have a few people who came to our room and asked us to play their CD's. Most sounded just like you said. "like shit" I prefe...
Amp for Quad ESL 57 Ralph I am a dealer for deHavilland but I recommend that anyone interested contact Kara Chaffee directly. This suggestion was more for Ggavetti. I doubt that the Mr T would like the sound at all.
Amp for Quad ESL 57 My vote would go to the new 50A amplifiers from deHavilland. These are re-makes of the original 50A's made by Fischer in 1954. We used them at the RMAF with WB speakers. Kara has used them with Quads. I promise you won't be disappointed. You can c... |
