Can anyone tell me about VERITY AUDIO PARSIFAL I have owned a truckload of speakers in the last 30 years, including Parsifal and Fidelio.Parsifals ate the best I ever owned. They are refined and revealing, and great with tubes. If you find them bland, it may be because you are using them with ...
Vincent Audio SV-500 Arriving Today To AUXINPUT:Please, you have GOT to be kidding here!!! Your comment: "...Huh. I have only heard the Yamaha from many youtube videos (which on my system has accurately shown the sonic signature). All the Yamaha integrateds have a very bright and...
What is the most FUN pair of speakers you've ever had and why? For me it was the Polk Audio LSi 15Not the most refined, and far from the most expensive I owned ( those would be a couple of Verity Audio speakers I owned in the past}.The LSi 15 sounded...RAW, alive and very dynamic. No exceptional bass, or high...
Which reviewers and review sites are the ost reliable? I enjoy reading (and viewing on his YouTube channel) Steve Guttenberg « The Audiophiliac »He knows about the expensive stuff yet he reviews tons of more affordable (sometimes dirt cheap) gear and finds the positives in them.Steve is pretty cool an...
Opinions on best integrated under 10k? For the past (almost) 40 years, I have had SO many integrateds in my home it is almost shameful. Both tubes and solid state. Both well-known manufacturers and exotic, rare birds (with rarer distribution and support.)My all-time most enjoyable comp...
New D'Agostino Monoblocks...$250,000 How ironic that at the age where someone can afford such uber-expensive gear, his hearing has probably declined by 20 to 30 %.Even more ironic, those amps might even be used to play Kenny G's "single-note-ear-bleeder" music. ;)
Filling speaker stands: sand, lead, steel, rice. Full, half, etc? For me, stone dust (Home Depot) is the most dense, heavy-as-hell filler.Imagine a 3' by 2' bag of sand. I would estimate the equivalent size in stone dust to be roughly twice as heavy, at least that's what it feels like. This stuff is so dense, it...
Absolute Sound - do we really need another review like this? Yes, the 105 is DISCONTINUED as in no longer available...again, why this review....Tell is instead about the upcoming replacement model !Still, the 105 remains a superb, no-brainer choice.
Absolute Sound - do we really need another review like this? tpreaves....." do we really need another discussion like this? "That was exactly my point concerning this yet other Oppo 105 player. Nothing really new in that review, it has been reviewed to death.
Absolute Sound - do we really need another review like this? You are absolutely CORRECT! My apologies, got the two magz mixed up. (maybe it is a sign they are much alike!) I was referring to Absolute Sound of course, and I have NO idea why this thread was published twice...I am a longtime member, way past t...
Absolute Sound - do we really need another review like this? I understand my beef is with Absolute Sound today, yet I still prefer it to Stereophile, but not by much. I mean, how many 10 pages-long "Magico" reviews and endorsements can you handle ? As far as What HiFi is concerned, they are of course very U...
What's your latest album purchase? Last three (Vinyl) purchases from most recent down:1. Beatles - Abbey Road (wanted to compare sonics with CD box set I own)2. Diana Krall - Walflower - My first vinyl of her, and my last. She is now Spotify material to me. Uninspired, and barely o...
Worst Rock Band Ever !!!! Ok, not a band, just worse.Kenny "G" with his single-note ear-bleeder.He sounds like a 70’s Toshiba microwave’s "your-meal-is-ready" tone. Not far behind, Nazareth. When I hear "Love Hurts" on my car radio, my whole body hurts.Bronze medal of shame ...
Help! My system is very bright it hurts my ear Maybe it is just a "code 9.5 " problem. Meaning the problem is located 9.5 feet in FRONT of the speakers. This very scientific diagnostic tool should be the very first step taken in solving MANY hearing-related issues. Total investment: $ 7.29 ;)h...
"Warm Sounding" Solid State Amplifiers Hi, also from Canada.Well, although my recommendation may not be a solid state amp, it is one...almost!Pathos Logos. It has 100 watts / channel solid state power section with a pair of 6922 tubes in the preamp section.Call it the beauty and the be... |
