Is the NAD 3020 the best value of all time?
Deal of the century in my humble opinion....the humble Nait 1, the original. A whopping 18 (or was it 15) watts per channel. 1 volume knob. Amazing speed and clarity. Even today, it sounds more than respectable. I had mine plugged in '84, unplugge...
Cayin A88T - My Favorite Amp Out of Numerous - FYI
I owne two of these amps, very nice indeed. Question '' How did you bias this amplifier?'' There is no way (unless they changed the model) to bias this without fidling underneath and inside the electrical snake box. Just for this, I have to disagr...

Try this...I have been using bare cables at the speaker ends on a second system. I have stripped 2 inches of the cable sleeve to show a bare 2 inch wire....then run them trough the first binding post at the bottom and on to the upper one. And voil...
Is seller negative feedback a deal-breaker ?
Jylee, funny that you mention that ''I've tried leaving a couple of negative feedbacks to other members and none of them went through.''Same thing happened to me as recently as 2 weeks ago. I had the worst A'gon experience yet with an Audiogoner o...

Is the NAD 3020 the best value of all time?
I once owned both the Nad and Nait. For me it would be the original Naim NAIT, all 15 watts of it. A tiny box with huge, lively sound.
Best used floorstanding / full range around $1000
In all honesty, and I humbly state that I have owned speakers up to the $ 16,000 Verity Audio Parsifal Encore (my review is here on the 'Gon about those), there are three speakers that stood out in my experiences over the years in this price range...
Looking for a CD player with more life
I had the exact same problem once. I would like to suggest that your solution might be to replace your Moon i-5. I have owned two of these units, 5 years apart, and finally came to the conclusion that for the results I was looking for, I could do ...
Polish for adagios?
I use Cory products for pianos.First application is a ''scratch remover'' that applies micro gloss to remove swirls and hairline scratches. Second application is the polisher lotion that brings it all to a new-again finish. These are inexpensive pr...
Is it best to leave gear on or to shut it off?
I once had my first-ever ''high end'' unit, the diminutive original Naim Nait, a whopping 18 watts per channel, but sounded subjectively like an 60 watter. Turned it on in 1984, turned it off when I sold it ten years later in 1994 ! We are are alm...
Speakers with high WAF?
I agree that there comes a time when audio gear must dress the part. Great sound? Sure, but not from ugly boxes anymore.Have a look at the Opera line of italian speakers. I personnaly own the SP Callas in durmast wood (light european oak). These sp...
