Conrad PV1 best step up for Hana ML
I’m wanting to achieve an emotionally charged, full, black quiet soundstage. Are you prepped to dial in vta? ( means shims in Rega land )
Conrad PV1 best step up for Hana ML
@ebryant7 hi from a fellow Seattle-ite. The Hana ML is 0.4mV and 7 ohms coil - this classically will work with a 1:20 step up, as far as load to the cartridge goes.  This will give you a nominal 5mV to your MM phono input which is medium high as...
Stepping Up From A Graham 2.2 On A Basis Audio Debut Deck
May be too large but check the AudioCreative rotary lift, they have some drawings online. It might allow you to use larger variety of arms.

Oh and what cart(s) planned?

@rooze do you have the mounting hole diameter ( template drawing with screw hole spacing even better ) and pivot to spindle distance handy?
What's A Good Upgrade From A Manley Steelhead?
@rooze I represent RADA and of you search will see their Precious One phono is highly regarded for an all tube design. Will want a ( good ) SUT for a lomc in this case.. For SS I agree, Moon is doing good work.
Stylus gauge recommendations ?
Use any of them but don't think a $20 gauge is repeatedly accurate to three decimal points. Good news is one decimal point plus your ears should be fine. ( same can be said for spirit levels - ever priced a calibrated Starret :) )
It’s time to upgrade my pre-amp
If you want a good, modestly priced, passive preamp look at Khozmo. Otherwise you could diy one.    If you get an active preamp I would say at least 6 db gain, low output impedance and most of all sounds good :)
It’s time to upgrade my pre-amp
@goodnightpaul    it means the elukit needs far less signal to reach 'full output' than the ST70, like 1/4 as much. There is more to it of course but lets just say a preamp with 0 db gain might be just fine with the Elukit but maybe not so great...
It’s time to upgrade my pre-amp
@goodnightpaul Nice setup.  A few comments: 1) You need to know what is ( and how this varies between your amps ) the input sensitivity of your amp(s). For old school amps this was expressed as x voltage to drive amp to max output ( usually betwe...
Do I buy an upscale TT?
@coltrane1 nice setup. As to smoking a 301/401 well probably not. I've hear both in a few setups but YMMV :) Btw hello fellow Washingtonian...
Concerningly loud pops in vinyl playback
I recently diagnosed a persistent hum issue on a Clearaudio Performance DC and it was related to the armtube grounding being faulty. Anyway +1 on looking at various electrical aspects like appliances, etc.   Sorry you have to deal with this...
My analog journey - time for a new phono stage or?
@sameyers1 I work with RADA hit me up, if you want to chat about an opportunity ( caveat I am their importer ) Also, some interesting buzz on the Konus phono preamps...just to add even more to your list to research :)
Do You Play Or Save Your Best Cartridges
Aside from having a dedicated mono cart ( recommended if you have the wax ) I do see your point vis a vis streaming. But I also think retip costs for a second tier cart are very low so ' spin dem rekords :) '
Do You Play Or Save Your Best Cartridges
Play the good ones!    As an aside, since I am in the trade, I only work with cart manufacturers that offer reasonable repair / rebuild services. These things wear out, lets plan for it...
