Getting the most out of my Definitive Tech bp2000's
First, welcome to this wacky world of audio.  With your equipment I’d use the monoblocs alone to drive the speakers as they likely have better parts and power supplies (along with more power) than your AVR.  And as Duke mentioned, by all means pul...
EVS Millenium DAC II
I’ve still got the original EVS Millennium DAC.
What's the best non-DAC streamer?
You’ve got some good recommendations already so I’d just add the Innuos Zen Mk3, which is also a server and has a disc drive so you can rip any discs you have directly into it.  Gets very good reviews, and there’s one available here now for $2785....
Questions on utilizing optical and rca digital outputs
I’d definitely use RCA and would highly recommend buying a 1m Apogee Wyde Eye digital cable from Amazon for 40 bucks and use that until you find something better. It flies under the radar because it comes from the pro audio world, which is why it’...
Best used integrated under $5k
A tube hybrid like the Pathos Logos or Unison Unico 150 might be worth considering given the characteristics you’re looking for.  There’s a nice used 150 for sale at Upscale Audio for $3400.  Best of luck.
Minimonitors
There’s a pair of Joseph Audio Pulsars here that have been upgraded to the latest Graphene model for $5750. IME, JA speakers pull off one of the best disappearing acts in the industry and throw off an outstanding 3D soundstage while sounding very ...
Advice please.
What aspects of stereo performance are most important to you, and what would you like to improve upon over your current speakers?
Looking for closed back headphone advice
What are the most important sound characteristics you’re looking for in a headphone, and why only closed back?
Upgrading Aerial Acoustics Model 7T
What aspects would you most like to improve upon over the 7Ts?
Bookshelf/ Monitors for bedroom setup - Revel/ Dynaudio/ Spendor
Ah crap.  I swear I’m losin’ it here.  You could probably do very nicely with the Wharfedale Diamond 11.2 at half the price or the Evo 4.1.  Since the thumping libido music is off the table, the Silverline Minuet Supreme Plus at $699/pr new would ...
Bookshelf/ Monitors for bedroom setup - Revel/ Dynaudio/ Spendor
Given the music you listen to the Wharfedale Evo 4.2 would be worth considering.  It’s a 3-way bookshelf speaker with dedicated woofer and midrange drivers to enhance clarity and dynamics (good for hip hop, dance, pop music), and with its refined ...
Small Brands vs. Larger Brands
A lot of the smaller cable manufacturers offer generous in-home trial periods, which is very valuable as cables can be so system dependent.  And selling direct, as many do, obviously keeps their prices very competitive by subverting dealer markups...
Really need some help finding a full range speaker
LSA-20 Statements are available here new discounted to $4500/pr (normally $7k) and, very importantly, offer a 30-day, in-home trial. They’re only 39.5” tall and 9.5” wide but will go down to 25Hz and will likely be a considerable improvement over ...
speaker recommendation for 35watt tube mono blocks
Spatial Audio M5 Sapphire is worth a look.
Newbie considering 3 streaming DAC/Servers
In that price range I’d add the Innuos Zen Mk3, which can be had used around $2500.
