Center Channel Dialogue
@erik_squires made some really good suggestions to try.  If they don’t work I’d recommend doing a trial of this SVS center speaker.  They offer a very generous 45-day trial period including shipping both ways so no risk whatsoever to see if it wor...
Innuos with wi-fi
You should do a free trial of Qobuz.  It sounds better than Amazon and will work with your Innuos.  It’s only like $13/month with an annual subscription if you decide stick with it.
Playing CDs sounds better than Qobuz — dammit
@dilatante Thanks for asking.  I ended up getting an iFi Zen Stream with their iPowerX power supply and it provided a huge improvement.  If I upgrade from the Zen it’ll likely be to an Innuos Zen so I can load my CDs that aren’t available to strea...
Digital Dilemma
Get a better streamer and it’ll make a huge difference.  My streaming now far surpasses the quality of spinning discs using an Oppo as a transport.  Also, get a good USB cable (DH Labs, etc.) to connect to the DAC as that matters too.
Is anyone using a HDMI cable for I2S connection between digital components?
@stuartk Most use an HDMI connection but can vary in their pin configuration that can lead to incompatibility issues.  Best to check with the manufacturer if a given DDC or streamer is compatible with their DAC.
Your experience of moving to two subs
Rhythmik makes awesome subs and I hope the SB2000 (that I also own) can keep up.  My guess is it will and that once you get both subs dialed in you’re gonna reap sizable benefits.  Keep us posted!
McIntosh to Luxman?
If the Luxman revitalizes your system, I’d think the cost of return shipping is a relatively small price to pay, especially at this level.  I say go for it!  Otherwise u may never know, which as a fellow Audiophile I know will gnaw at u like a mol...
Your experience of moving to two subs
Heh heh.  I’m with ya man, and maybe that’s why Alon finally saw the light.  If Wilson uses subs with their Alexandrias, well…
Is anyone using a HDMI cable for I2S connection between digital components?
I went from using an SPDIF cable to a cheap, short HDMI cable into my Musician Pegasus DAC and the performance upgrade was significant although this is specific to each DAC given the unique design of its inputs.  I’ve heard others say that upgradi...
McIntosh to Luxman?
My experience with Mac is that it’s very tonally rich but is rolled off in the upper treble range that veils upper-octave detail and the openness of the overall soundstage.  My experience comes from working for Magnolia at Best Buy and hearing the...
Your experience of moving to two subs
It’s funny.  I had a good sit down with Alon Wolf where I argued that using subwoofers to augment the lowest octaves of bass has advantages over trying to achieve 20Hz and lower bass within one cabinet, not the least of which was room integration ...
Your experience of moving to two subs
Looking forward to your impressions once the subs are dialed in.
What's your picks
These would be perfect for that size room and play well with all types of music.   https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649979471-joseph-audio-rm22si-signature-updated-pearl-cross-over-from-jeff/
Your experience of moving to two subs
It pressurizes the room more evenly and helps avoid or minimize in-room bass anomalies.  Plus, each sub doesn’t need to work as hard to produce the same bass.  I don’t know anyone here who prefers one sub compared to two, so take that for what it’...
All New Wharfedale Dovedale Loudspeakers : Giant Killers ?!
I’m not saying they can’t sound great, but it looks like each speaker weighs in at about 57 lbs., and at their size I’ve gotta believe those cabinets resonate significantly in the audible range.  Is this part of the design?  Any thoughts on this?
