Ruminations On CD Players
I also need to track down the source of a mid-range screech, which I'll address in a future post. Eeeek!  That sure don’t sound good.  Is that present with both vinyl and CDs?  I noticed your amp only puts out 36 Wpc in ultra linear mode (and o...
what preamp goes best with mccormack dna 500, follow up....
+1 @audphile1 You might try waiting for a suitable used AZ Silver Ref interconnect to come available (I’ve got a couple pair but won’t part with them) and try that in place of the Wow and see what happens, and it’s also the cheapest and easiest th...
Eversolo DMP A6 with or without preamp
Direct feed into the amp sounds more clear and transparent. Shocker.  That’s exactly why I recommended trying some more neutral/transparent tubes.  You can play with wires and tubes if you want, but it sure sounds like too much thick Mac syrup ...
Ruminations On CD Players
Forgot to mention, I just watched a movie called “New in Town” starring Renee Zelwegger and Harry Connick Jr. that was actually pretty good and located in…wait for it…New Ulm, MN.  Coincidence?  Hmmm.
Ruminations On CD Players
I think it’s so great that you’re keeping your mind open to other options, and in the end it will likely pay off big and be well worth the added effort.  I noticed that you haven’t really touched on what improvements you might aspire to with a new...
Moving up????
Heard good things about Tyler speakers but have never heard them in person, but I’m sure they’re very good. If it’s me I’d look at the Usher Mini Two Diamond as it’s in the same price/spec ballpark, and the Usher speakers I’ve heard are outstandin...
The mistake armchair speaker snobs make too often
I never quite could figure out the knock against speaker manufacturers that use off the shelf drivers? I tend to agree with @simonmoon here although I’ve no experience like him or Eric building speakers to back it up. Companies like Scanspeak, ...
Eversolo DMP A6 with or without preamp
Maybe having both a Mac pre and amp was too much of a good thing?  Agree with maybe trying some new and maybe more transparent tubes.  Hard to believe you couldn’t significantly improve upon the preamp section of a $900 streamer/DAC combo unit eit...
Ruminations On CD Players
I don't have a streamer and hate to say never, but I'll likely stick with CDs and vinyl. It’s good you’re at least open to the possibility of streaming in the future.  Once I started streaming via Qobuz I very rarely spin a CD anymore because 9...
DAC VIBRATIONS 2
I agree with others here that vibration control is important.  Try these.  A lot of people here swear by springs as isolation devices, and these are adjustable for weight and only cost $23 for a set of four.  They’re from Amazon so if they don’t m...
Class A integrated amp recommendations
Multiple suggestions to add subs, what would be best for music? Ported/sealed? Down firing? Servo-drive? Placement might be challenging with space constraints. They all can work, but given your space/placement constraints I’d lean toward sealed...
Playing two Bluetooth devices simultaneously from iPhone and/or MacBook
@kota1 Ha!  Interesting looking piece, but I took your initial wise advice and just ordered an RCA splitter that should solve all problems and will be here tomorrow (thank you Amazon Prime), and at $10 it’s a relatively cheap fix assuming it works...
Playing two Bluetooth devices simultaneously from iPhone and/or MacBook
@kota1 Dammit. Thanks and you’re correct, unfortunately. Nice catch. Looks like I’ll be trying an RCA splitter after all. Ugh.  Not sure why they’d provide a 3.5mm patch cord in this case — that’s what threw me.
Playing two Bluetooth devices simultaneously from iPhone and/or MacBook
@kota1 I’m giving your method a shot and like the idea of only having one transmitter.  Turns out all the BluDento outputs are active simultaneously so my plan is to keep running the RCA out to the sub and the 3.5mm output to the Edifier speakers ...
Playing two Bluetooth devices simultaneously from iPhone and/or MacBook
@kota1 Thanks, and I’ll look into this.  But I was hoping to first figure out how to run two different Bluetooth connections at the same time from an iPhone, etc. and see how that works as it’d be the simplest solution.
