Interesting video on cables
Ok, Apple is NOT a cable company.  Period.  They’re a computer company that lightly dabbles a bit in making some cheap cables purely for computer purposes.  That’s it.  I used their Camera Adapter for a little bit to get music outta my iPhone/iPad...
Interesting video on cables
These are USB cables but I’m sure the principle applies to speaker and IC cabling. No, not really.  This is geared more toward computer audio/video than USB as it’s used in more serious audio applications like sending a signal between a streame...
ISO - grit, texture, decay, life from snares and bass drums
I’ll look into ATC - any particular models as a good value. As you seem to be looking at speakers in the $3k range I’d recommend the SCM19 v2. Music Direct offers a return policy so I’ll include their link here… https://www.musicdirec...
Looking for intermediate-step Streamer: better than BS Node and not @ Bartok level pricing
@mitch2   Unfortunately I don’t have experience with the Pulse and not many do as it’s a relatively new model, and there are frustratingly few reviews of any of the Pulse-series streamers so they’re still a bit of an unknown but likely to share ma...
Ideas for Pre/Power $9000?
I'd split your budget in half.  Half for amplification and half for new speakers. Big +1 @ozzy62  Dang. I realize that the Elacs are not high-end, but I didn't guess I'd have to toss them out before upgrading the amps. If you’re spending th...
My VERY POSITIVE Experience with VTV and Warren Coleman (Attention: Sound Lab Owners!)
Just curious what made you choose the Hypex amp over their Purify models?
Endgame Vocal+ DAC Help: Terminator Plus 12th vs. Chord DAVE vs. Holo May vs. Weiss502.
Don’t matter how you get there, just that you get there so CONGRATS!  I will say I’ve never heard anyone say the Terminator sounds “glassy,” but there it is.  Enjoy man, and Goodonya!   Love hearing stories like this as they’re few and far between.

Congrats!  And thanks for sharing.
New Speaker, Wilson MAXX 3, Alexandria series 1, Alexia series 1, YG sonja models
Who cares if they make their own drivers if you prefer the overall sound of a speaker that uses top drivers from Seas, Scanspeak, etc. who already know how to make some pretty darn good drivers? That’s like saying to buy a DAC because they program...
Subwoofer Basics Help
2 subwoofers seems to be popular. At what price point does a single subwoofer out perform using 2 subwoofers? Two subs is popular for a very good reason.  Tough to answer your question in general because there are many differences within each b...
Coax SP/DIF to USB..thoughts?
The type of cable or the cable itself is not generally the issue but rather the designer's implementation of the connection interface at both the source end and the receiver (i.e., DAC) end. +1 @mitch2
How to connect susb to my system
Using the RCA/XLR connections will maintain full range sound to your speakers. If you chain them in via speaker cables, most subs (you haven’t specified what you have) will play the sub-bass and then pass the upper frequencies to your speakers....
Clayton Shaw Acoustic Lab's Caladan open-baffle speaker ($3295/pair).
Yeah, but this one is from a competitor so is a bit different.
Speaker Efficiency
Amps, and especially tube amps, do not perform sonically optimally as they’re pushed more toward their limits.  But, that said, if you had the volume knob pretty cranked and were still enjoying the sound maybe that amp even working sub-optimally s...
Zafvino Silver Dart Graphene vs. ?
I’d highly recommended trying these lightly-used AZ Holograms.  If they don’t blow you away you can sell them for little/no loss, but if they do you’ll save a bundle. https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lisb77a9-acoustic-zen-hologram-ii-like-new-sp...
