Which integrated amp would you pick?
@2psyop - are you saying that that $3500 of Parasound (A 21 and P3) separates are as good at the $7,000 M6500i? That would certainly swing my thinking towards Parasound, although I haven’t heard the Halo Integrated. Just curious, as I’m in the mar...
Current NAD integrated amps, what are your impressions?
A couple of years ago when I was getting back into this hobby I tried an NAD 375bee, and I was very impressed.  I was experimenting with a lot of different gear, and at the time I thought I wanted an internal DAC.  I ended up selling it to move on...
Best current footers for preamps?
I have found that vibration control is a critical part of maximizing the performance of the system.  However, I think "YMMV" applies here more than in any other area.  The factors that will affect the performance of footers include: the compositio...

Guy Clark has passed away
So sorry to hear this.  Peace to his family, friends and fans.
Upgrading the "original " Rogue Sphinx integrated amp to the new version 2 (v-2)??
From dagogo.com:  "Still, if you only use the Sphinx as an integrated amp you will have no idea how good the preamp and phono stage are. The preamp and phono stage of the Sphinx are the reason to buy it, it really is that good. When I came out of ...
Upgrading the "original " Rogue Sphinx integrated amp to the new version 2 (v-2)??
I was referring to a review that I had read of the Sphinx V1 in which the reviewer raved about the preamp section of the Rogue.  So I assume there is a preamp out.  He claimed that the preamp was the strength of the amp and that the power section ...
... should I Buy a New Integrated, or upgrade/update/rewire my existing...
Ah yes, the timeless Onkyo vs. Rowland debate ;).  If you are considering the price range of the Rowland, I would imagine there are a lot of options, including separates.  Paraneer is right on the money - depending your speakers you could go for a...
Smoothest and best sounding turntable/cartridge combo up to $1600??
The VPI Traveler has been on sale recently for $999 as it has been replaced by another model. I would add a Grado Sonata 2 for $600. It's a fantastic combo.
Anthem 225 - using an external phono amp
Most phono stages in mid-priced integrated amps are mediocre at best.  They are often a conveniency feature.  The fragile phono signal can be much better handled by an external unit that doesn't share the power supply and internal wiring of the in...
Harbeth P3ESR or Monitor 30?
I have just recently come to the LFD-Harbeth match, and I think it's astonishing.  I have the P3esr paired with the LFD LE V and an LFD LE/SE phono stage.  It's hard to believe this is not a tubed system with the dimensionality and tonal purity th...
Upgrading the "original " Rogue Sphinx integrated amp to the new version 2 (v-2)??
I think your limiting factor here is probably the phono stage.  The number of integrateds at the 2k or below price with even a decent MC/MM phono stage is fairly small.  The best I have heard is the Unison Research Unico.  Other brands with a phon...
Possible Amp (or integrated) upgrade from Creek Evolution 100A
A few thoughts:1.  More power does not necessarily mean better sound at low volumes.  The issue might be caused more by the speakers than the amp.  Even the phono amp could be partly to blame.2.  Using the Creek as a pre will probably do a disserv...
Speaker recommendations
I agree with the KEF LS50 recommendation.  I think it would be a great match.  By the way, the NAD 375BEE is an excellent integrated amp, but it's generally known a warmer amp and may not have the detailed highs that you are seeking.  Another thin...
Acoustic zen hologram 2 with spades
p.s.  I had the same problem with the Hologram II.  I really had to pry the spades apart a bit to get them to fit on the amp end.
