Klipsch Cornwall IV
Actually the Klipsch Heritage line 15% price increase starts September 1st not the 15th like I stated above.
Klipsch Cornwall IV
@dbarger, regarding swapping speakers with the CW IV.  Absolutely, I bought my CW IV to swap with my Sterling Broadcast LS3/6 BBC monitor with a REL S5 subwoofer.  The LS3/6 is a great speaker that was just awarded (again) the Golden Ear Award by ...
Klipsch Cornwall IV
If you're considering a Cornwall IV purchase, I'd recommend doing it soon.  Klipsch is raising prices again on September 15th by 15%.  This is the second time Klipsch has raised the MSRP since I purchased my CW IV in March 2021.  Back about 3 mont...
Best sub for music,
I have a single REL S5 mated to my Klipsch Cornwall IV speakers.  The Cornwalls don't need much supplementation at the bottom end but I think the S5 integrates perfectly with them.   My S5 is set to roll off at the top end at about 32.5Hz.  All my...
What DAC upgrade made you say “DAMN, that sounds SO MUCH better than my last DAC”?
Not yet but I will soon.  My guess, the KTE will come out on top.
Server/Source Recommendation For Denafrips Terminator
Just to clarify my above post, the Gaia would added to your existing system between the N100H and the Terminator.  From my understanding, the Gaia reclocks the USB signal from the N100H and outputs I2S to the Terminator.  This should improve the N...
Server/Source Recommendation For Denafrips Terminator
You might consider the Denafrips Gaia that has a USB input and an I2S output.  I think it reclocks using a OCXO clock for improved jitter performance.  I also have a N100H and I bought something similiar to the Gaia, a Innuos Phoenix USB reclocker...
CDP or DAC?
@fred60, I have the new PS Audio PST SACD transport connected to my Holo May KTE using I2S.  The Holo May KTE has 4 user selectable I2S configurations and Alt #2 works without a glitch with the new PS Audio transport.  I've played both regular CDs...
What DAC upgrade made you say “DAMN, that sounds SO MUCH better than my last DAC”?
Currently, I have 2 separate systems and each one has a DAC.  My basement system has a Holo May KTE and my great room has a Bricasti M1SE.  I upgraded to the May from a Bryston BDA-3 and it was a very significant improvement.  The Bryston was good...
Recommendations for speakers that sound great at lower volume levels.
I have the Klipsch Cornwall IVs and they have a full body sound at low levels.  I've owned Harbeth SLH5 and currently own the M40.1.  I also have the Sterling LS3/6 that I like better than the SLH5.  For low level sound, it's hard to beat the Corn...
A Hidden "Feature" of the Cornwall IV
I've been into high end audio for over 30 years.  I have 2 large systems in my home with Harbeth M40.1s, Sterling LS3/6 speakers.  Last week after watching and reading several reviews including Steve Guttenberg's review, I purchased the Cornwall I...
EL 34 tubes
I'm using a pair of Sophia Electric EL34 ST tubes in my Auris Nirvana headphone tube amp with excellent results compared to the stock Electro-Harmonix tubes.  I also tried the GL KT77 tubes in the same amp but they were not nearly as good as the S...
Phono stage recommendations
I have the Zesto Andros 1.0 and the Luxman EQ-500 and I love both.  You can't go wrong with the new Zesto or the Luxman.  If I had to pick, I think I would go with the Luxman.  I prefer the retro look of the Luxman and the build quality is fantast...
Phonostage for Rega P10
@jimkiely,I'm completely satisfied with my Luxman EQ-500 and (2) NOS Brimar CV4003 and (4) ECC83 Gold Lion tubes.  I left the EZ81 stock tube in place.  I use Nordost Heimdall interconnects from my EQ-500 to my Van Alstine Audio FET Valve all vacu...
Just recieved my new Rega Planar 8
I recommend the Herbie's Audio Way Excellent II mat for better sound quality and it also eliminates static very well.  I compared the Teac Washi mat, a white leather mat, and the Herbie's Way Excellent and Grungebuster mats on my Rega P10.  I ende...
