Road trip to demo $10,000 speakers
Jafant,  I'll probably be leaving early Wednesday, unless the weather is too bad.  I'll get the trip together tomorrow, with directions to get to each dealer there, a notebook that includes among other things, suggestions provided here for listeni...

Twoleftears, good call. It is Audio Exchange on West Broad St. I was thinking of, not Audio Art. As far as the "boonies go, my next door neighbors are cows, so I'm feeling this locale qualifies for that appellation. I love the countryside though, ...

rcronk, yours is the exact situation I've got here. What I figured on doing is to raise the flat screen TV which covers the existing opening, only high enough to make a space for my VPI turntable to set, and high enough to be able to remove it's d...

Room placement for Vandersteen Treo CT
That's good advice to differentiate between quantity and quality of bass. I'll keep it in mind when I'm listening to speaker demos this week, hopefully. I've got to organize all these good tips I've been getting. Maybe cutting and pasting a cheat ...

Kingrex,  I've been happily listening to my $790.00 pair of Dahlquist DQ-10's since 1976. So you're way ahead of me with with your Pure Audio Project Trio 10's. Since you mentioned the Trio 10's, I went and looked up a review on them, which coinci...

I was going to let this thread die a natural death but thought of one more question before I travel to audition some speakers next week. I've been sensibly advised that during speaker demos not to let to let  dealers get away with using equipment ...
Room placement for Vandersteen Treo CT
Ctsooner, glad to hear your Treo's sounded good that close to the wall. I'll probably do my speakers in black to blend in with all the black audio components, computer, TV etc on the same wall and not compete with the Federal style mahogany furnit...

Italian, thanks for sharing your experience.Slaw, I've asked a few questions here. Bear with me. I'm uncertain which one are you referring to as misguided. Bdp24. I looked at the Townsend pods you recommended and will track down the Youtube video....

Kingrex, a couple of questions; when you say Sorbothane can suck life, could you elaborate on that. What would be the negative effect, and how and why might this be occurring? I am trying to learn, and really don't understand how that might happen...
