Bricasti M1 DAC vs PS Audio Direct Stream DAC
Wow Fsmith that's a big leap of faith! I do wish you the best it will be interesting to see what you think. I too just received my own Bricasti M1 and have to say it's the first time I now listen to digital, this coming from an analog guy. Yes I s...
Phono preamp with two inputs: two MMs or MM+MC?
NVO (New Valve Order) are all custom made to order, you tell us what and how you want one configured!(Dealer disclaimer)
What is the best OTL out there?
I've listened to a few different ones and have to say the Atmasphere Novaron's have been my favorite. Now with that being said you must, with any OTL, use a speaker that has a flat impedance and the higher the better.(Dealer disclaimer)
Review: New Valve Order SPA II Tube preamp
Petermax we have the SPA-II/2 SE and also the new SPA-One SE in house. Yes the SPA-II/2 SE is better in resolution and beleive it or not the nosie floor has dropped but the ONE-SE is just unbeleivable! (Dealer disclaimer)
Why so few balanced phono inputs?
NVO (New Valve Order) actually came out with their first units with balanced inputs (also had the RCA inputs as well) but over the last several years no one was using them so now, since these units are all made to order, are still offered with bal...
Brinkmann vs TW Acustic
Don't know much about TW but there has been much posted regarding Brinkmann belt drive accuracy.
Brinkman Spyder review- anyone hear it?
We have yet to see a Brinkmann belt drive table that was perfectly speed correct based on the Timeline. The Bardo proved otherwise. How would that affect the sound? Depends on how sensitive your pitch is.
Lampizator question
I also have a BIG 6 loaded for sale....going up the Lampizator line! Selling at 50% off and there's no waiting!
Audio Research VT 100 MKIII
I understand the MKIII is a LOT simpler to bias, anyone have how the MKIII gets biased?
Brinkmann Bardo
I went from a Bardo with 10" Brinkmann arm to a Kuzma Stabi with 4Point arm and the Kuzma set-up is more focused, detailed and has more weight! All in all a big win.
Quad ESL-63 and low-powered amps; Sun Audio, Atma
We recently sold a customer who ownes these speakers a pr of Atma M60's then a few months later he upgraded to the new Atma Novacrons. When we went to set-up the Novacrons he still didn't have enough vol to get the speakers to sing. It wasn't the ...
Anti-cables Level 3 v. Acoustic Zen products
A friend bought the Anti cables level 3 a while back and he brought them to my place for a listen. He ended up selling them for AZ cables which were fuller sounding and had better top to bottom extension. He has since moved on from the AZ but for ...
Acoustic Zen Crescendo Mk2 or Daedalus Ulysses v2
Mtrot I think if you ask dealers you will get some great discounts, we have always been better than buying direct from AZ and yes we know he sells direct into areas where there are no dealers. Call around and give some dealers a try.
Acoustic Zen Crescendo Mk2 or Daedalus Ulysses v2
About 9 months back I was struggling between the Daedalus and AZ Crescendo's. I had only heard the AZ and really liked them and thought they would be a good match with my Atmasphere speakers. Well I've had over a dozen speakers in the last 12 year...
Re Sound Application. Does
There's nothing esoteric with the parts used in these units so don't know why the high prices. My understanding is the current units are close to $20,000 but have no confirmed data just what I've seen posted on different forums.
