Wow an old album that rocked your world
Two come to mind: Joe Walsh 'The smoker you drink, the player you get', beautiful, emotive music, like a drug experience (with no pharmaceuticals necessary), and ' Frampton Comes A live', which I still maintain is the finest live concert album ever.
My amp suddenly going silent when volume knob touchedi have a ordered
Sold my 1070, have had a few different  brand amps in here with no issues. Just picked up a nice sounding  vintage Rotel RA 1060.... same issue. Zap, no sound, LOL. Must be Rotel, other brands not exhibit, same living room, same conditions.
Maybe I'm crazy, JBL 530 vs DCM..
reubent,This will work even with horn loaded tweeter/tops?
Maybe I'm crazy, JBL 530 vs DCM..
Thank you, guys, I will do that. This morning I put on ' crazy baby' by Joan Osborne, and I'm hearing open airy snare drums on the DCM, and a more cupped snare but stronger bass line on 530s. Maybe just dramatically different voicing. I'll give it...
Smooth sounding integrated <$1k
Full disclosure: I'm selling a Wyred4sound STI 500. Personal interest aside, it truly sounds fabulous. 250/ a side into 8 ohms.
BEST SPEAKERS AT A REASONABLE PRICE
Reasonable price? Find yourself a vintage pair of DCM Time Frame speakers 500, 600 or 700, you'll be n pleased. Roughly $350-550 tops.
SCAM ALERT ON MULTIPLE CRAIGS LISTS - Watch Out!
I've been fortunate, sold several items on Craigslist from kids bikes to ADS L570/2, in person, at my house. I think you just have to trust your gut. Now ARMSLIST, that's a nest of scammers.
Your favorite Small Apartment Speakers
On the higher end, I think Reference 3a Dulcet BE have to be on this list. On a budget, I've heard terrific music out of a pair of NHT 2.1 SuoerOnes.
What are some of the most underrated and overrated loudspeakers you’ve auditioned?
My old DLK 1 pair had a more ' live' realism than many more modern, ' accurate' speakers I've owned. Paper driver, cts cone tweeter, real walnut cabinets..I dunno, some low tech magic.
Reasonable high end interconnects: without breaking the bank
I remember reading good things here about Duelund interconnects, $100-$200 budget if I'm remembering correctly.
Which area of components to spend the most $ on? Boy I was wrong all my life!
Yeah, I'm no maven, sorry, but 10 posts and big free shill for Marantz... Best anecdotal advertising money can buy.
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Instead of listening to music per session and trying to hear if there is a difference, wouldn't it be better to record, say, cymbals, or a flute tone, a guitar note, isolated, and try to a/b it to see if the cord is impacting the sound?
Speakers with the most detailed midrange? (non-ESL/planar)
Respectfully I think  real magic works when achieving this ideal midrange with a speaker that a working stiff can afford, say under $2K instead of $12K... I'd be interested in those recommendations
New $24,000 inter-connect
That's the thing, it's all relative  I originally went from a Radio Shack interconnect to a $100 Duelund. That's a multiplier of about 50x. Who's to say the average shnook views my spending $100 on cable the same way we scoff at a $24 K one?
Considering used towers under $1000..
I have a pair of new 2.1 SuperOnes, maybe I should revisit their tower options as well, thank you
