Now that I see a new photo of the new TP 2.1 with wooden knobs, it is rather elegant looking. Oh well. My TP 2.0 is "purty" enough as we say here in Texas.
Anybody familiar with Mundorf silver&oil caps
J.D., I'm curious if you tried a V-cap or Mundorf by themselves( un-bypassed ) in the outputs of your preamp. Also, what is the output impedance of your preamp and what value of cap is in your pre outputs?

I don't know. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I kind of like the look of my TP 2.0n with the wooden knobs.

Joe, I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your preamp. I still love mine and am awaiting some new caps to try in the outputs. I'll post an impression in a couple of weeks. Yes, tubes are fascinating, aren't they? Even the same tubes from the sam...
joy killing refridgerator
Your fridge draws a lot of amps and adds noise to the house line which can be heard through your stereo system. Just another reason to get dedicated lines to your system.
Preamp Deal of the Century
Fiddler, I'm curious how many hours of break-in you have on those V-caps. I have read that between 300 and 400 hours, they start sounding so good that you had better hold onto your socks.
Bose 901...really
I would find a good used pair of the Bose 901 on Ebay or here on Audiogon and give them a try. Why not? If they don't sound right in your pool room, you can always re-sell for minimal loss. Then again, they might be just the ticket for a fun time ...
