This is a brilliant interview of Keith
Lol. Nobody realizes it and nobody will acknowledge it but the drummer and bass player are almost always the two most important players in every rock band.Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman feel is indeed the key to the Rolling Stones. I think Charlie m...

Love In Vain has Ry written all over it. Superb cover!
Benchmark AHB2 Amplifier, opinions and competition
I find better bass is a common observation with Benchmark products. It isn’t simply more bass as in fact their bass response is flat. Just better definition of pitch and timbre - you hear more detail in the bass and better separation of instrument...

His philosophy is clear. Great art is not something you create in a vacuum nor can you ever claim art as your own. You learn from your idols or “cats” and then learn who are the cats that these cats learned from and so on. Back to Robert Johnson i...
The most important factor in soundstage imaging
@jsautterPassive crossover add quite a lot of phase distortion. However, so can resonance from whizzer cones and the like. So not a black and white thing except that phase distortion from a crosssover can definitely be an imaging issue. The perfect...

Wow Duke! You absolutely nailed it with regard to speakers!I can’t add anything to do with speakers just a big thumbs up to your post! What I can add is this, a little science...Below 2000 Hz we locate sounds in the horizontal plane by time arrival...
Do any of your Rolling Stones recordings bring "Satisfaction"?
Waiting for a friend is a classic that even cursory Stones listeners would know!
Audio Physic speakers
Audio Physic image exceptionally well - the narrow baffle really does an impressive disappearing act! They don’t hang together as well at higher volumes compared to many others but imaging is what they excel at!
More Cowbell
I really miss classic rock with a cowbell mounted on the high hat!https://youtu.be/7miRCLeFSJo

Let it Bleed, Tatoo You, Emotional Rescue on ABKO are exceptional. I believe Bob Ludwig did the remasters that I have.Maybe it’s also because I use the same speakers as The Rolling Stones/ABKOThere is also a great sounding compilation called Jump ...
Speaker With Least Room Interaction
Sealed and critically damped. Rather a rare beast these days.
Is this the real life, or just death on 2 legs?
Great Movie. Not really about Queen’s music but mostly about Freddie, a troubled and eccentric once in a generation genius. Few bands were ever able to be as good as Queen were live. RHCP. AC/DC. James Brown. To name a few.
Proac Ribbon Tweeters Damaged
Tweeters in general are delicate and amplifier clipping can easily burn them up. Ribbon tweeters are in general the least robust type of tweeter. They are what I would call “rather fragile”. A large pop or click from switching inputs could have do...
Looking for speaker recommendations
B&W are quite distinctive due to their large midrange, high crossover and bass resonance - this gives a smile shaped EQ to their sound. I think you have found the brand that suits you best. I honestly can’t see any of the others working for you.
Trained ears.
There is the classic book by Alton Everest called Listening Skills for Audio Professionals.More recently, Jason Corey has written an excellent book which is complemented with online training by the author. And before you ask, Yes I am trained. And ...
