Ultra high resolution Harry smokes. Indeed he had great "sizzle"...a very nice sound and yes he did smoke (cigarettes) too...
Ultra high resolution I must second both Shadorne & Dcstep... Homage To Duke is still one of the best recordings ever to my ears, and long-term reference... It has slightly more bass then it should, IMHO, but it is the realistic dynamics that make this such a gem....
is there a consensus on too short speaker cables? I am not sure you will ever find a consensus here. FWIW, the difference in sound between 5 foot and 6 foot is negligible but the distance from amp to speakers can easily be more than 5 feet.
Ultra high resolution Hah, I ordered "Twist of Motown" this morning, plus another Grusin album and a Ritenour. If you don't yet have Dave Grusin's Homage to Duke then you are missing an absolute GEM!!! One of the best recordings out there bar none.
Derivation of a Beautiful Piano Intro Solo? If you are looking for a beautiful piano piece and classical overtones in heavy rock then look at Bohemian Rhapsody. Freddie was trained as a classical pianist and as an opera singer. Although it is simple like "Fur Elise" it is quite obvious from...
Best multichannel amp for music? Do I understand you correctly that what I've got is a bad amp/speaker match? Yes - your bass needs a Bryston style amp (more punch and control) but you prefer a warmer sounding amp for the midrange. You might try putting a sock in the speaker por...
Is this when you have "arrived??" If your system can help you to learn to appreciate music passionately like this then you have not arrived at all. Your journey has just begun...
Bass, Frequency response, Etc...Noob Question an honest manufacturer may have worst real world specs. That was a gem and it is certainly true of some of the few honest high quality manufacturers... speaker specs are a constant source of exaggeration often in room specs ( yeah give me a break...
Great systems in butt-ugly rooms As far as WAF goes, surely a man is happier if there is more often room to accomodate his gear, even when butt-ugly, rather than not.
Best multichannel amp for music? If you still using the Snell C/V - this speaker has "underdamped" woofers (usual bass hump). The damping factor of the amp will play a considerable effect with this design. There is nothing wrong with your Dreadnaught but it is a low feedback desi...
Ultra high resolution dither is sometimes used as a technique in the design of digital hardware Indeed it is ....but our ears behave in a classic digital pattern. Tiny hair movements trigger nerve bundles that send "digital" signals to the brain. Once a nerve bundle f...
speaker recommendations? I second Macrojack good suggestion.
Great systems in butt-ugly rooms I'm with Tvad - who cares what the room looks like. However, placing mega expensive great gear in ridiculously small spaces or shoved in a corner with no acoustic treatments whatsoever and listening chair up against a wall does seem a bit of a was...
Ultra high resolution Joey: It should be the "World's Most Deadly Joke" sketch. Heheh Nah - the most deadly "dead" joke sketch is this one....and now back to regular programming! (Sorry Chris I just found your initial question that does not even mention which amps you...
Do I really want the musicians in my room? Buy a cable switch box and use both => you can switch musicicans in and out of the room at will! However, move quickly, as this new speaker cable property (in room/out of room) is soon to be patented by Monster Cable. Once this happens then ever... |
