Apple to download 24 bit in iTunes?
24/96 is no real benefit to most people, as most do not have a system capable of peaks well in excess of 120 db SPL nor can they hear the "roll-off" from brick wall filters for CD.The problem is badly mastered CD's with heavy compression.
Flawed? Wilson's Aspherical Propagation Delay
If Wilson used active crossovers then they could offer adjustable x-overs at reasonable cost.Frankly I am with buconero on this one, at least in regard to the very large Wilsons. I have no beef with the triangular sloped baffle on the Watt Puppy -...
Flawed? Wilson's Aspherical Propagation Delay
If the dispersion of the drivers is uneven (as they are in many audiophile designs) then adjusting the tilt and toe in of individual drivers can certainly be used to accommodate for inadequate design, however, this all comes at the expense of incr...
Stereophile vs. Sports Illustrated
Stereophile readers' tend to adjust their knobs at a suitable level - but on the whole leave the settings alone. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition readers' are constantly tweaking them up and down.

I Was at a Funeral of An Audiophile...
Compared to many systems here, bricks & mortar specials are not so bad. I think it is the height of bad taste to denigrate someone at their funeral - not everyone has the same priorities...perhaps this fellow spent his money on music rather th...
Success w. large speakers & moderately sized rooms
Revel F52's do not have a bass hump. However, Adamg, I think you will be delighted with the sound of your new speakers if you can place them as you describe. This is what I would call well out into the room.
Best Late Night Low Volume Speaker
I am extremely impressed with Genelec 8020B - very very small pro speakers - and just under $1000 for a pair. You can sit very close and get a great experience without bothering others - bass response was a real surprise for me - plenty of bass.
Success w. large speakers & moderately sized rooms
I think they will work well if you can get them far out into the room (away from walls and corners). These speakers have a huge bass hump (resonance) not unlike the Wilson WP series. If you cannot get them out into the room then I fear you will lo...
Most Challenging CD
Hey, Shadorne, I just got finished playing Dire Straits, "Brother in Arms." This is one of the best produced CDs ever. Mark Knopfler is a stickler for sound quality - so is his sound engineer, Chuck Ainlay.Mark built the famous British Grove Studios
At what volume do you typically listen?
The volume dial is near meaningless as a measure of loud. Some setups are deafening at 9 PM others are still fairly quiet at 3AM...however if you like playing with your knobs who am I to criticize.
Albums on Bluray ???
Tom Petty Blu-ray ALBUMS are Damn the Torpedoes, Mojo, and The Live Anthology. (Soundstage is indeed a concert- probably the best quality live concert I have ever seen - for SQ and picture Q - obviously you have to like the music but it is superio...
Help fellow AV designers
Why not go for a projector and an audio transparent screen and place the speakers behind the screen.like this
