Electronic crossover recommendations I've heard great things about the Bryston crossover. I've used an Audio Research unit with Maggies and it worked very well although if tapped or moved would send microphonics through your system.
Cable elevators I use them, though I rigged by own. I use the old glass telephone/power insulators to elevate my cable from the floor. In a good system you can really hear the diffence and they look cool too especially the blue ones. You can order commercial ones...
Anyone ever converted their garage? While you are remodeling your garage, think about building the ASC Iso-wall. It is well worth the trouble and will provide you with a state of the art listening room. You could also contact Rives Audio. They will draw up a plan for you for a nomin...
Turntable stands I have a SOTA, I'm joining the thread. What turntable stand will work with this unit? How about wall mounting?
Upgrade my 332 to 431? I owned a 336 and upgraded to the 436 monos. They bettered the 336 in every way. I think you would be very happy. I believe the 431 will be lighter and easier on your back too!
Rediscovering the Joy of Digital? I hear and know what you are saying. I own an expensive turntable setup (SOTA) and rarely use it except to play recordings not available on CD. The problem with a turntable (like tube equipment) is that you never know when it can sound its best. T...
Does the Mark Levinson 331 suck? Levinson amps are nuetral. They reflect the source and wiring. Another factor amps like the Levinson, Krell, Halcro and many others, with large crurrent capacity, don't start sounding their best unless provided with a seperate 20 to 30 amp circuit...
Hafler You can have John Hillig at Musical Concepts repair and modify your amp. He does first rate work. Go to his website musicalconcepts.com.
Best speaker match for Levinson system I have a similar system but with 436 amps and 31.5 transport and use Revel Salons. They are a great match and would work well with your large room. What kind of power cords, interconnects, and speaker cables do you use?
Need advice on interconnects: make a difference? Vampire wires used to be very good, I have not heard them in some time though. Try this to hear the difference:1. Install one set of cables listen for a couple of days or a week, then replace them with the other brand some night when you can conce...
Power cord for Levinson 27.5 I would start with a Synergisic Research AC Master Coupler. Used ones are available for around $140. or there abouts. I use them with my new Levinson gear (436 and they sound great) plus you could always resell it easily if you find something bett...
The Truth About Preamps The top of the line Adcom is a very nice preamp is rated Class A by Stereophile and can be found used for less than $1000 or by it new for about $1500 it sounds great. If you want to run with out a preamp, you would need to by a fairly expensive CD...
Name that tune? I guess it is the Heckle and Jeckle theme song. Thanks for the help. Maybe this will narrow it down.I've tried the cartoon network but have had no luck.
How to clean the exterior of an amp? I use the rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth as per Levinson gear manuals. It seems to work great and leaves no residue.
I need to help elevating my speakers. Try a Sound Anchors. They will make you a custum stand for your speakers or equipment. I've found none better. Excellent service and build quality. The sonics are superb.Email or call the owner with your specifications and you'll never look back. ... |
