Amplification Suggestions for Legacy Whispers??? A friend of mine uses the almost legnendary Krell KSA 250 with incredible results on his Legacy Focus speakers. I believe you could find two KSA-250s and vertically biamp which would give you awesome sound, plus heat your home in the winter!
Amp with Revel Ultima Studio or Salon I use the ML#436 amps with my Salons and this is a great combo. I also used these amps with a pair of Studios for a couple of months. I've also auditioned the Bryston 4bst, the Classe Cam 350, and the latest Krell 450 monoblocks. To me the #436' w...
Halcro DM-58's or Levinson 33's? Jon,Try biamping your Salons vertically with a second pair of 436 amps. This really takes the Salons to another level. There are several pair of 436's at bottom basement prices. I have not heard the Salons with the 33's so I couldn't tell you whic...
Most Flexible Audiophile Preamp I second the vote for the Levinson #32. It also has the flexibility in becoming an integral part of a Home Theater setup, without subtracting from its two channel sonics.I've seen them sold on Audiogon for $9500. without the phono stage.
New Audiogon Categories? And how about a Computagon? I'm sure we could swap/sell computers and there hardware just as easily. I bet many of us have Windows expertise to share too. It would sure be easier to share info this way instead of contact Microsoft, Intuit, Roxio, ...
Isolation for power line conditioner? Check out Vibrapods. Use the cones under your component and the pods under the MDF. You could also interchange the two. Be sure to get the right value Vibrapods for your project. See Vibrapod.com.
Experience with Argent Room Lens It is pretty easy to make your own.My homemade ones look and sound excellent!Look up John Risch.
Experience with Argent Room Lens The room lens system can make a significant upgrade to most systems. Maybe as much as a new amp. The difference they made in clarity, focus, pitch, imaging, and even bass response in my system and a friend's system were not subtle.I started with t...
Selecting audio components In my experience, Theta, Krell, and Levinson equipment sound awesome usually sound great together. So mix and match to your heart's content. With that class of equipment its hard to go wrong!
Stillpoints or Audio Points, has anyone compared I concur with Thorman. I've used many of the cone and isolation products. Vibrapods work best with my components. The new Vibracones make a good addition to the Vibrapods and are a significant upgrade. For best results make a Vibrapod sandwich. I ...
Building Amp Stands I second Stehno's post. A friend made a heartwood stand for his stereo and it looked and sounded excellent. I believe Audiopoint has a kit with prethreaded spikes and with threaded sleeves made up just for this purpose. I used some on my Maggies a...
Anyone have experience with ceiling treatments? I use Auralex diffusors on my ceiling to great effect. They have three different sizes. I use the Metrofusors. My dedicated room is in the basement with low ceilings adding the Metrofusors made my room sound like a hall with 10-12 foot ceilings. E...
Speaker Wires on Carpet Sorry to disappoint you guys that have not heard a difference, but elevating your cables over the carpet makes a notable positive difference and is well worth the investment. I obtained some old glass telephone and power insulators from antique st...
Levinson 33H & 436??? I have 436s. They sound great on my Salons. However my system sounds better biamped with 2 pair of 436s. I think the 33hs probably sound better, but I believe I would have more power and headroom with my set up. |
