Classical CD Box Sets
Living Stereo box set!!!!! Bought it, then realized I already have all albums as SACDs, presented the bix to my daughter-in-law. Should I say more?... I grab ALL box sets coming out, but my second advice re the content would be Philips box, it is ...
Just got back from lp swap in frisco
What did you get? I miss my life in Chicago, Lakeview was (I hope still is) such a nice neighborhood to spend a day-off browsing thru second-hand music stores...
Best Turntable for the Price - Linn Basik
Let me respecfully disagree with the previous "shameless promotion" sentiment: most of the dealers I was visiting in Chicago and now in LA are audiophiles first, they are not car salesmen. Maybe I was just lucky, but an advice from a dealer is as ...
Music you HATE the most but once you LOVED it
Hate? No!, Zero, Nada, Not a single One! Does it make me a spineless coelacanth? I guess. I never liked Fleetwood Mac, or Jefferson Airplane, or ELP, or Dylan and still don't listen to 'em (but have the albums) Loved Uriah Heep, TD, Deep Purple, s...
Which Jazz Albums are similar to Kind of Blue
I agree with all previous "evident suspects" simply because I got most of the albums as LPs or XRCDs.My five cents (rather a million-dollar advise, posted here for free!): Khmer by Nils Petter Molvaer, if you love Miles you will love this album.al...
Recommend remasterd SACD albums? classical, jazz
Camel albums, direct from Japan at cdjapan.co.jp I'm glad I lived long enough to this moment! I also posted at that old/dead thread mentioned by HEW
Best SACD's
Love Living Stereo SACDs. If just a single CD then it is definitely Brahms 1st Symphonie under Bohm (Esoteric SACD). Dead Can Dance SACDs as a Box set, but I still prefer recent LP pressings by MoFi
Exotic vocal
Not mainstream, not expected as per Western cultural standards, my guess... As when Debussy infused Eastern tunes into Western mainstream 100+ years ago. Not that easy to define nowadays that we r all mixed and racially-"corrected" but some geneti...
THE most sonically dissappointing (lp) you own of great music?
VDGG album Live: totally awful both as CD and LP, such a shame! Bootled CDs of PF concerts sound better!
Exotic vocal
Lisa Gerrard, Yma Sumak, Cocteau Twins, you guys beat me to my all-time favorites (it is totally sick how many copies of original pressings LPs, 180g LPs, Japanese mini-LP CDs, SACDs copies I collected but not listening to...). Since Bjork had bee...
help a Die hard ANALOG guy choose a budget CDP
I feel your pain! Bought Japanese mini-LP set with a promo box of Camel,  and now they reissued all Camel  albums as SACDs! What to do, "what a poor boy should do"...
CD ripping
You should definitely rip your CDs in Apple Lossles before dumping them! Or flac, wav, whatever...I have a hard time noticing the difference and then questioning my hearing when listening thru iPod into SR-71 into Sennheisers but with Pono into ba...
LP Cleaning
I feel like a spineless worm but I agree with what astro and whart are saying!... Being happily married for like a zillion years, a few kicks below the belt feels normal, Vinyl-style to me. My 5 cents is that Milty Zero stat II is a cheap peace of...
Turntable Recommendation 15K budget Avid Acutus, Brinkmann, Oracle, Nottingham,,
Another 5 cents from uninformed vinyl-head: I Love my totally-Naim-ed and Keel-ed Sondek but given another chance I would try DPS/Ayre TT. Based solely on the reviews from Art Dudley of Stereophile. Lame advice, I know, my only excuse is that DPS ...

2channel8: I have CDS3 for CDs and Wadia for SACDs, for the last few months I am torturing myself trying to choose which one to keep and cannot choose! Keeping both, feel real stupid about this.
