" I don't want to open it!"Please, for the love of god, don't open it !Sorry, I just couldn't resist :-o
HD Radio- Why no home tuners yet?
I agree with avideo. A reasonable FM tuner (available for under a couple of hundred dollars) with a good outdoor antenna will make great music and give you a broader selection of stations.
SPICA revival and modification
I used to own Spica Angelus. Fabulous imaging, and very non-fatiguing, but unable to play rock music due to very thin bass and limited dynamics.I switched them for Green Mountain Audio Europas, and I haven't missed them. The Europas do everything ...

Is Digital actually better than Analog?
Good answer Raul.
Speakers for large open room
Budget ?
My system is bright? I need help. thanks
If there are drapes covering the window, and carpeting on the floor this will help tame aggressive highs. Soft furnishings also help. Wall hangings like decorative rugs are also very good. Fortunately my wife likes antique rugs, so acoustics and a...

Can you describe the room .. carpets, windows, furnishing, position of speakers ?
Meridian 508.24 problem
Strooper, it's not the lens it's the laser. Usually the entire CD mech is replaced, as they are inexpensive (under $100). You'll mostly pay for labor for a job like this. I'd give Meridian US a call for an estimate.
I could not believe it
I can't believe it either, because my rega planar 3 / Goldring 1042 is about equal in sound to my $1000 CD setup, with neither being a clear winner.I have found a good cleaning to be the most effective way to reduce surface noise, so if your LPs a...
Sticky tonearm lifter on old Rega TT
A similar thing happened to my P3 when it had been stored for 5 years. I found it just gradually loosened up of its own accord. A little warmth seemed to help. I cannot remember if I put a little WD40 on the stem, but that would probably be my nex...
Is Digital actually better than Analog?
Nrchy, you are wrong. Digital is only a broken stairstep if you ignore low pass and in particular sin(x)/x filters. Analog no more has infinite sampling or quantization than digital does, as it too is limited by its medium, which imposes a limitat...
Is Digital actually better than Analog?
"Digital is a broken stairstep; analog is a continuous curve.Digital samples at a finite rate; analog, if you will, is infinite sampling."Posts like these serve only to highlight that the poster knows nothing about the theory and implementation of...
Cheap DAC with high output voltage
Monarchy audio 22A/B/C. It has internal jumpers to configure for low or high output voltage. The high setting is very high. I use the low setting to give better volume control on my preamp. It's a pretty nice DAC, too, provided it's fed a low jitt...
Is Digital actually better than Analog?
Digital vs analog is something of a religious debate in audio. In my opinion both have strengths and weaknesses, and, unless you already have a sizeable collection of LPs it is not worthwhile to purchase an analog setup (turntable, phono pre-amp) ...
