Would vinyl even be invented today? Actually, high res formats brought vinyl back from the dead. When Sony disscontued support for SACD, and DVD-A didn't really go anywhere, they couldn't make TT's fast enough. What happened with those 2 formats is a direct cause as to why vinyl is ...
Directional speaker cables - switching direction It is true that some audiophiles believe in something other than science, which is fine. However, I don't think any of the manufacturers feel that way. I'm sure they don't just stumble upon something and say "hey this sounds great" and sell it. It...
Would vinyl even be invented today? i imagine he has hottter GF than most of us do know, but that is what happens with money, power, and inviting the internet ;)
Directional speaker cables - switching direction I must say this post is really inspiring me, maybe it is the spirit of the season. I'm thinking of starting some website that investigates claims of various manufacturers of all types of hi-fi goods. I see too much going back and forth, which is f...
Directional speaker cables - switching direction I'm thinking that mono-crystal is the name used because single crystal is a real term and is only used in labs. Single crystal and mono-crystal are probably two different things. Here is a piece of single crystal copper that is not as pure as Tara ...
Directional speaker cables - switching direction Am I the only one that clicked on the link and got 1000's of images of miscellaneous stuff?Using the same logic, obviously hi-fi does not exist:more_imagesI would really be interested in the study from hi-fi tuning. Can someone point me to a link?...
what the best amps run revel salon2 stronger bass You need and amp that can supply good continuous current from 20hz to 600hz which is all of the low and upper bass.I would the the Classe and ML solid state amps would have no problem with this, and they have been tried.

Emotiva XMC-1 owners.... Wow I learned something new. The sub out on the the oppo does not actually control the sub.... Please ignore ignorance...Yes, it is possible to run the outputs of the oppo to an amp and use the oppo as a pre. However, I'd recommend a good pre/pro ...
Soundstage - when wide is too wide Play a mono recording of vocalist with sparse accompaniment. You will need to adjust your system to get a tight center image on the voice. This is some of the best advice I have seen on this site for setting up the speakers to get good phasing and ...
Onkyo TX-SR875 on board AMP + Pre out together? I think the Onkyo sends both a pre-out and amp-out simultaneously, so you shoudl be able to do that. The difficulty will be getting the phasing right on your 4 "front" speakers.
Most overrated audio manufacturers? I'm not against people making money, but what I dislike are crazy claims, high prices and no engineering justification for it.I'm reminded of the ML HQD as a prime example of this. A $28000 speaker system in 1984 that measured poorly and sounded e...
Directional speaker cables - switching direction "Mono-crystal", nice marketing term. Are there any electron microscope pictures to prove this?I can almost guarantee that no one can hear 3 9's vs 100 9's difference. The cables in out speakers aren't that good, nor is the copper on the PCB's of o...
Automatic return arms - still produced ? The later automatic turntables did not effect SQ in any way. The motor started the movement of the tonearm and then disengaged until a photocell was activated for it to turn on and move the arm back to the starting position. At some point it was d...
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz I may rarely agree with mapman, but this thread seems quite fishy. Can anyone say they paid retail for these cables? It sounds like typical hi-fi journalist who are well lubricated by product manufactures. |
