New high end from Serbia? Auris audio I looked up Auris Audio's website. The company began operations in 2014. They have one distributor in the U.S. One.That's it. ei1001h, you said it yourself in your post: "Their asking price is rather steep for a relatively new and unknown compan...
Are there really a bad misfits in the hifijungle out there You were listening to hi-end amps with high quality speakers. But apart from your example, there are really bad combinations. One example would be an underpowered amp that is being used with a speaker that needs more power. Another would be a b...
bi amping Mcintosh XCS 200 center with Mcintosh 302, Mcintsosh 456 or 601s for Magico S5s I agree with previous posts. HT speakers need to be matched, or, at least, as close as possible.
Looking for ideas - new mono blocks for stereo music No doubt you'll get as many answers as there are members here. I use a pair of Sanders Sound Labs monoblock Magtech amps to drive a pair of Apogee Duetta II's. The monoblocks are $11,000 for a pair. I have used them for over four years with no p...
Stacking a HT processor on top of amplifier Don't stack unless you add a fan, as per craingl59's suggestion. The MC generates too much heat for anything to be stacked on top of it. Your owner's manual probably advises against it.
Mcintosh MC275 monoblock different version Why not just listen to the two amps together and hear how they sound?
Is It Possible? Don't let the prices of the two speakers confuse you. It is how they sound that counts. The Quads are a great speaker. If you like them enough, sell your other speakers or use them in a second system in your house.
Apogee Duetta Signature Series II - Upgrade Recommendations I own a pair of Duetta II's, which I bought new in 1987. In 2008 one of the bass panels failed. i took them to Rich Murry of True Sound Works. He replaced all the ribbons in both speakers with the replacement ribbons made by Graz in Australia....
McIntosh C2300 noise Hmm...I have a C2300. There are two phono sections in this preamp. Have you tried swapping out the tubes? Have the tubes ever been replaced? I was surprised with my C2300 when one of the output tubes failed after just a few years of use. Althoug...
Which Subwoofer would you choose? I own a Velodyne DD-12. Their long-term customer support is something less than to be desired. They have simply stopped making replacement amps for many of their earlier model subs, including mine, which was made in 2006. You might ask the seller...
CDs Vs LPs phomchick makes what seems to me a good point. I was happy when CD players hit the market in 1982. I was tired of records developing ticks and pops. I have not bought a record in over 35 years. But that raises a question that I would like to ask ...
Fantastic Customer Service from Audio Classics I can echo the other posts about Audio Classics. I have bought several components from them and have always been happy.
Musical Fidelity A308 Int: is it worth a service call? I've never owned a MF unit, but you need to factor in its value, whether that is on the market or to you, versus the cost of repair. I have generally been disappointed with the quality of work done by factory authorized repair facilities. Some o...
Customer Service Experience with REL I agree with mofimcadness. I reaffirm my previous post as to liability in the U.S. I don't know Canadian law. But with 40 years experience as a lawyer, we do live in a world where it seems that no one wants to accept responsibility. But we are oft...
Customer Service Experience with REL ightmare, drhee39. Sorry this happened to you. Does it look like the damage happened at the factory or during shipping,or both? I don't know Canadian law, but you might "google" who bears the risk of loss/damage if there is shipping damage in Cana... |
