Vintage Mcintosh tuner Cleeds, I did not say that I did not like the MR-80, only that I did not strongly recommend it.
Vintage Mcintosh tuner I have five Mac tuners...the MR-71, 74, 77, 78, and 80. I strongly recommend all but the MR-80. I can't recommend the MR-75 I have heard it and does not compare with other Mac tuners
Tuners that do it? There are countless opinions on this topic. I have always liked listening to FM. I bought my first McIntosh tuner, an MR-74 in 1980, and was positively stunned by the great sound quality. I still have it, and had it modified last year by Richar...
Best Long-Distance receiving Tuners Years ago, I put a Winegard TV antenna that also receives FM in my attic. Then I connected it to various McIntosh tuners that I own. I also live in the Los Angeles area, about 100 miles from Los Angeles. The best Mac tuner for long-distance (at...

Fm tuner I like FM tuners. I have a collection of McIntosh tuners--the MR71, a Modaferri modified MR-74, an MR-77, an MR-78, an an MR-80. I retubed the MR-71 myself last year with NOS Telefunken tubes, and it sounds great. Also great are the MR74, 77, a...
Has anyone considered rebuying a speaker you once owned?? I have a pair of Apogee Duetta II's, bought new in 1987. I had them rebuilt in 2008. They sound great
MA6200 vs MA6450 I owned the MA6200 for many years, without any problems. But as I expanded my system, I needed an amp with more power and changed to separate McIntosh preamps and power amps. As to the MA6450, I have no opinion, as I have never it.
Stay away from the nad Contacting NAD about your unit is a good idea. There's always going to be some premature failure rate in almost any product. You just got a bad one, that's all. I wouldn't condemn the entire company over one bad unit. |
