Anybody have the Feickert Adjust + program? I ordered the home version and was wondering what sound card you guys are using since the one that was on the web site is no longer available.
Audio Tekne top end gear? I've heard the current Audio Tekne phono stage and it's the best in my somewhat limited experience. I'm trying to sort out how this compares to the Allnic's which seem simular, the shindo's and the Doshi. If you check Albert Porter's system, he re...
Lyra Titan i on Basis Vector 4 experience? Dre,Glad to see that you're enjoying the Titan. I'll have to make it over one of these days & hear it. Now all you need is lots more LP's.Scott
friend needs help to dispose of inherited vinyl I would give Dave Canfield at Ars Antiqua either a call or email. He will buys at wholesale but it is the simplest way to dispose of a large collection. If you want retail, you will have to sell them yourself. Dave can be contacted at either dave@...
Elrod esp2 for Turntable power supply Haven't tried an Elrod but pair of the cheaper Shunyata's made a difference. Why, I have no idea but it does. Down on my list of things to change is replace all of power cables.
10 Great Classical LP's It seems that youre getting a wide variety of advice ranging from going with reissues of the audiophile labels to cheap stuff from Goodwill. The problem is that you need to learn what you like and dont like in classical music. Thats daunting ta...
Would a ARC ph5 have enough gain for a Lyra Titan I tend to think that there's not enough gain in the system for the Titan. First, Lyra rates their cartridges at 5 cm/s versus the typical 3.54 cm/s. That would knock down the input to 0.35mv and with the 12 db from the ref 3, you would be outputin...
Gerald Cantor has passed away. I heard the news a few days ago. Sad. He was a gentlemen and one of the nicest guys on planet earth. I had only met Jerry once at the midwest record show but through the years had talked many times. He will be missed.
Jadis JA30 - Quad ESL63 .. 4,8 or 16ohms? I believe the impedance of the 63's is north of 16 ohms in the bass and about 2 at 20k. That's why many amps roll over and play dead with'em. Which tap to use is amplifier dependent. Experiment with your amp and make your own assessment. My ARC D1...
Can I still buy Quad ESL63 with no repair record? I've owned the 63's for a long time now and you have nothing to fear from replaced panels as long as they were done by someone who knows what they're doing. I've used QS&D and Quads Unlimited and both did a good job. The basic fact of Quads is...
Best Phono Stage within 2000 $ I am surprised that no one has mentioned the Herron. In the used market it is certainly in your price range and is extremely easy to live with considering it is a tubed unit. Gobbs of gain (66db) that can handle about any cartridge.
Help all ye Triplanar Gurus Stainless can be strong if you pick the right alloy and heat treat.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul,Great thread. I have a couple of questions. First, which of the SS cartridges have you heard? There are several models that seem simular at a glance. Secondly, Phono stages that have impedance loadings of 100k seem to be a rare bird - most st...
Anyone NOT like the sound of VPI? Yes, can't stand'em
Zyx Airy 3 Cartridge into Herron VTPH-1 Phono.. I run the 0.24 mv with 100 Ohm Vishays in the Herron. No problem with gain. I think the ZYX phono stages use 125 Ohm loading. I've been thinking about trying that. |
