Bob,Please stop ripping with iTunes and download and try the free XLD app on your mac as recommended by a number of people above. There are a couple of reasons why:1) XLD guarantees bitperfect rips and reports if there are any errors. So you can ch...
Audio - Post Divorce
What a great thread.I am lucky. My wife not only supports my audio hobby, she supports my efforts with our local audio club, she built gorgeous inlaid maple amp stands with Eden footers for our amps and has helped with room treatments, etc. When m...
Silverline Speaker Opinion
Gary,You are correct, in that I was suggesting Audiopoints under floorstanders. My experience with monitors is that Blu-tak or similar is a good idea to reduce probability of tragedy spillage. Your stands will benefit from good footers if they don...
Silverline Speaker Opinion
I was a happy Silverline owner for a few years. Very well balanced and pretty easy to drive. One suggestion is Audiopoints made a big improvement over the stock footers. Alan was always kind and helpful with questions. Cheers,Spencer
Is the word 'Integrated' that hard to spell?
It's true for many people English is a second (or subsequent) language and the many homophoBes make it very difficult to learn.Generally speaking, I'm with the "I blame auto-correct" crowd. Cheers,Spencer
Can a name make you or break you in the Audio World
This company is doing the best job in the industry in offering great sound quality and well made products at high value pricing, at least that is the perception of me and many of my audiobuds(i.e. audio enthusiasts, not those other buds). The name ...

CD Burning Software
+1 XLD confirms bitperfect rips. Works like a charm. Cheers,Spencer
Phoenix Engineering speed control
It's probably a ground loop. Do the table and/or the Phoenix have a ground wire? Try a cheater plug. Experiment with whatever ground wires there are between them and share the results with Phoenix when you call them. Cheers,Spencer
"Hidden Gems"'
Love Basie Jam. All those Basie late Pablos are awesome! Cheers,Spencer
Do you remember when Audiogon was just a bulletin board classified ad site?
TWL was my fav. Tom's contributions led me to dive back deeply into vinyl. He gave so much assistance to vinyl lovers, a true gem. I was very sad when he chose to stop spending time here. Cheers,Spencer
Decision Decision Decision between Cary and Audio Research Sound
Eddy, In general the Carys sound similar to the CJ stuff that you are moving away from. I'd suggest trying the LS7 with a better amp like advertisedAds for Rogue Monoblocks 150s or the  Music Reference RM200. IMHO, monoblocks will help with sounds...

NEW Discovery: Getting the Oppo DSD Output to a Dac.
Ozzy, Sorry, I mistyped in my last post. What I meant was that the newer Oppo 105D will accept native DSD (.dsf & .dff) files from a computer or streamer via the USB INPUT on the back. If you are playing SACD discs on your Oppo 95, I believe a...
