Lloyd Walker's Next Shocker
@lewm I follow the formula outlined in this article by @Rushton using the Triton X-100 option in lieu of Tergitol. http://positive-feedback.com/audio-discourse/rushton-paul-diy-approach-ultrasonic-cleaning-lps/The audiogon thread details the post-...
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound?
@bdp24 Glad to know it's useful source for you. My take is that Jon Risch was one of the first to encourage others to do DIY builds of acoustic treatments and gave detailed recipes to build stuff like bass traps. He leaned towards cheap and focuse...
Lloyd Walker's Next Shocker
@pryso The Walker delrin tube had a very narrow opening that resulted in such a concentration of suction that it dried the LP during the first revolution. It took more off the record and did it quicker. That was the benefit. OTOH, the danger of le...
Albinoni's adagio
Gary Karr on double bass, accompanied by Harmon Lewis on organ. The Cisco LP reissue is amazing if you can find it. This is a demo, crowd always drops jaws after hearing it. Cheers,Spencer
I have now listened to my restored, recapped and serviced NAD 3020 and..........
Got me through college years. Goes great with Mission monitors. Cheers,Spencer
Lloyd Walker's Next Shocker
It was the Vortex delrin replacement tube for the VPI record cleaning machines. It did a much better job than the original at removing dirt and fluids from LPs. Results were visibly and audibly obvious. As a longtime 16.5 owner I was excited at th...
Patricia Barber, Cafe Blue "un-mastered"
Yeah, Jim Anderson is a genius. That would be awesome. Cheers,Spencer
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound?
Ethan has a Manufacturer's forum section on audioasylum that is full of great info relating to room acoustics and treatments. Much of the content is many years old but still among the most helpful I've seen. Lately, I've seen his name brought up i...
A Big DIY Bang for Your Buck?
Geoff vs. Jeffrey; no wonder there viewpoints are magnetically opposed. Maybe they are Bizarro twins? :-) Cheers,Spencer
Why Single-Ended?
@audiofreak32 I think your post is silly and doesn't match my experience at all. OTOH, I think your icon photo is excellent and shows a highly recommended addition to any system. Cheers,Spencer

@paraneer Great post! @slbradley , read that advice slowly and carefully, so many excellent points raised. Cheers,Spencer
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound?
Excellent point about the thickness of 703 being so important at that frequency, but low frequencies are more likely to gather in the corners and the panels behind you on back wall will most likely only affect mids and highs so I would focus on ab...
Speakers to pair with the Ars Sonum Filarmonia tube amp?
Devore might be another good choice, although I agree Reference 3A is one of the first I thought of. Totem is another. Cheers,Spencer
Power Cables for Krell FPB300
@nglazer It has 20amp IEC female and comes with a generic cable which I think I read somewhere(i.e. a forum post) that it's made by Belden. Cheers,Spencer

One other smart choice if you find a deal in your price range is the Technics SL1200mkII or later, the best selling tt ever. Known for robust motors, stable speed and solid build, they evolved into the most popular DJ tables although they weren't ...
