Guitar Alphabet. Please fill out unused letters... Maybe I missed out, but I like to mention a talented, young and virtually unknow guitarplayer called Joe Satriani :).
Joe's Garage V.S. Broadway Yep, Broadway the hard way, Broadway the hard way, ladies and gentlemen. Still I prefer Joe's Garage (Hey! I've the lp's, but there are 3 lps Drwoofy????) over Broadway the hard way. But then again, I like almost everything except Jazz from hell....
How do I choose a decent system? The best thing you can do is go to two different audio-shops and have each of them assemble two systems within your price range. Then the most important thing starts: listening!!! Bring your own music, and listen, listen, listen untill you know wh...
Thorens TD-520, any value? The Thorens is a pretty good TT, and the arm is a gem. The powersupply shouldn't cost more then 20 bucks, so choose a nice cartridge (SME tends to go pretty good with Ortofon cartridges) and you've got a great player.
Best Inexpensive Tuner? Real cheap, worth every penny: Denon TU 260II.
Lenco Turntables? any info, opinions, thoughts? I owned a L75, which was indeed very rugged, but not too musical. Rather stiff chassis, and some lose bearings with the arm, but then again: it was a gift from someone who didn't use it anymore.... If you want a serious turntable, try to get a Reg...
Why are AM/FM Tuners So Expensive? I don't know why NAD, Rotel or other tuners are more expensive than, say, a Denon TU-260 II, since most tuners use the same front-end electronics.... You're probably paying for the name. To me, being an ex-radio-technician, there is absolutely no ...
I'm very upset. Let me tell you why. Hee Ezmeralda11, I agree with you. Of course there are worse things in life, but about the last thing you need is to spend that kind of money on a stupid piece of plastic with some wires, so I can totally feel your frustration. I just bought a new...
Nakamichi Dragons worth the fix? Get your dragon fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phono Cable I use som Van den Hull cable, a hybrid, sorry, can't remember the name, cable is terminated with Neutrik plugs and cost around $60 per metre, no plugs. Sounds brilliant! Michiel.
Most achingly-beautiful music Joe Jackson's Nocturne, Jimi hendrix Castle's made of sand, Savatage's St. Patricks cathedral and Queensryche's Someone else.
Who R U? Well, just a little mail from Europe, from Holland to be precise. I'm not sure whether or not I'm a true audiophile, 'cause I like to save some money for minor things like food, the rent, clothes etc. Anyway, I'm 31, journalist, and started with h...
Revox B77 Sorry it took so long for someone to give you an answer, but busy, busy, busy etc. Anyway, I used to work in a radiostation where we used B77's, and I really liked them. Are you sure the heads show some wear or are just plain dirty? If the latter ...
High Efficiency 2 way floorstanding or B Well, that depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you want to run a house-club, you need the highest sensitivity you can get, but if you listen to music in a medium-sized, not overly damped room, and do not intend to listen to stomach-bashin...
TO upgrade or NOT, that is the question! I agree with Tm12: the best thing you can do is to change your CD-player, that is unless your receiver is beyond repair. Al the cables are there to get the best out of your kit, but (and I've got the same CD-player as you have, but for a secondary... |
