Thiel model 3.7 - nice speaker.
The 3.7 and newer Bryston amps are not harsh at all. Can't say that for previous generations of both ;)
Preamp for Plinius SA-103
An older Audio Research might be too warm but the newer ones and BAT tube pre's were a good match for my Plinius SA-100 MKIII when I had it. I think a good tubed pre would sound very nice.

I have heard the 3.7's and I totally agree with you :)
Which speaker post to use: 4 ohm or 8 ohm?
I would use the 4-ohm but if you can't tell any difference it may not matter.
Best China made super integrated amplifiers
Cayin. Fantastic bang for the buck and resell well here.
Why 24/7 warm-up period on amps?
I was always skeptical keeping an amp on 24/7. If I were listening over the weekend I would leave it on otherwise turn it off if not listening for a few days. I do however think an amp needs couple of hours warmup to sound better. I also think an ...
Power cord with warm treble + very solid bass ?
I can recommend VH Audio AirSine and LessLoss. The AirSine has been in my system longer than any of them and LessLoss has been a good one.
Why We Need Audiophiles ?
Thanks for sharing. I agree with Albert that articles like that put into perspective how some audiophiles have a great "passion". Not everyone agrees but like I always say "to each their own" :)

Amps that can Rival A Levinson No. 332 around 3K?
I agree with Ckoffend. I think the Pass amps just don't sound as natural as the Levinsons. The Levinsons are neutral and don't hide anything without being harsh or brittle. Just accurate to the source. Another buddy of mine has owned a Pass and se...
Amps that can Rival A Levinson No. 332 around 3K?
If the 332 has been recapped I would go for it. Great amp. The 334 is another good one. If I were to get a Pass amp I would try the 250.5 and not the 250. The 250 to my ears was very detailed and fatiguing in the midrange. Very good bass I must ad...
Replacing The Stock EH 6SN7 Tubes For Cary SLP 05
I think the Sylvania will provide a ton of clarity which might not be what you need. I had them in my Rogue and took them out fairly quickly as they had too much energy. Your mileage may vary. The Sylvania GTB of mid 50's vintage may work better.
BAT VK-55SE vs. BAT VK-60SE
Call Martin Logan or BAT and ask. I'm not sure of the effiency of ML but if they are that difficult to drive then solid state may be a better choice.
Replacing The Stock EH 6SN7 Tubes For Cary SLP 05
I don't have a Cary SLP 05 but have found RCA GT Gray glass from the 40's have a very rich midrange and well balanced from top to bottom. So far they are my favorite 6SN7.
Tyler Acoustics my experience
I am using a Rogue Tempest II on my Decade 4's. I also have Ty's sub. For the Decade 1's I think Coda, BAT, older Krell amps (FPB, KSA), Levinson or a decent size tube amp would sound great. Not sure of your budget.
