Tube tester recommendations AQfor life I don't know the answer. You could try asking it on Audio Asylum's Tube Asylum.
Suggested entry path into vinyl... I re-entered vinyl recently with a inexpensive used TT, a Project 9.1 a lower priced new Benz Glider a reasonable Nova Phonomena phono preamp and a VPI 16.5(a must have!). I've had a friend's CD7 in my system and this "starter" rig bettered it, it...

Recommend good isolation For me the BDR #3 cones worked best under my old ARC CD3MKll. I put BDR #4 cones between my amp shelves and the floor, they helped but Sims pucks gave more inner detail so I would guess Vibrapods might be worth a try under the amps.

Comparison of ARC Ref3 and C-J CT5 In Wes Phillips 2006 review of the CT-5 he compares it to the Act 2 and states they are very similar ;"I switched over to the CT5 (from the Art 2). Huh? It sounded the same. I tried listening to the entire CD and then switching. Same. Switched aft...
TUBE NOOB: ADVICE NEEDED ON REPLACEMENT TUBE HI my advice to ask your questions on Tube Asylum was because there are tubeophiles there with all kinds of obscure information. You might also contact Jim McShane (tube dealer) he's very knowledgeable. |
