Monitor speaker recommendations How long have the 602s been sitting? If it's been awhile and you have them on good stands set up well you might want to run them for a few days and let them settle in. You might have what your looking for in them. They are a great speaker.
Monitor speaker recommendations As long as your rooms not huge I'd check out the B&W CM1, B&W 685, Paradigm Studio 10, Focal Chorus 706, Focal Chorus 806, Dynaudio Excite. Good luck. Have fun.
Klipsch Chorus II or Forte II - Secondary system Good for you! You are going to really enjoy them. By what you've posted I can tell you understand them well. Once you find the spot you want them they'll keep getting better. My forte's take a good two or three days to settle when I move them (eve...
Klipsch Chorus II or Forte II - Secondary system I can't tell you which to choose but I have the original forte' and it is an outstanding speaker, period. For your application of rocking out in the basement I believe it would be great. If you get them in corners or near the wall placement you wi...
Looking for integrated amp with phono for starter All good recs. +1 for the Marantz 8004. I would also have a listen to the Arcam FMJ A19. Both Arcam and Marantz are relatively easy to find a place to listen to them and that is a big plus. Both companies offer very good value in their pruducts.

why no recent Merlin speaker reviews? Enjoy, rx7audio! They are outstanding speakers and you're in for more fun in a few more hours of playing time as they settle in.

Upgrading the 326BEE I can only add my experience. I have the same speakers as the OP. I borrowed a C272 from my dealer. I used my C3320BEE as the pre. I figured it would be a "slam dunk" improvement. It turned out to be a big disappointment and a valuable lesson. Syne...
Upgrading the 326BEE I have the 320BEE and 325BEE. They are wonderful amps and 326 is the best one yet. For me the C162 would be the way to go. The pre section is the weak link in the 320, 325 & 326.I had a tube pre with my 320 and it was a nice upgrade. I'm at th...
