Try auction sites. I do see these idlers from time to time.
Vol. Control, TKD Or Dact For Counterpoint Pre ?
Tonyptony, this guy from digitalanaloguediy used to sell them on ebay. It is not as fancy as the goldpoint but it will do the job. As long as you have good contact point with smooth action, I would think the difference will not be too great for th...
Vol. Control, TKD Or Dact For Counterpoint Pre ?
Yep. I do have a DACT and definitely won't fit. The smaller goldpoint might fit. You will need to get exact dimension from goldpoint.
Vol. Control, TKD Or Dact For Counterpoint Pre ?
I like the Holco resistor. They're pretty nice sounding on my preamp. I think the DACT might be a little too deep. That's why the TKD is probably the best choice here for the counterpoint.
Tannoy-JBL question..
Off the topic, here are some ideas for your EV 12TRXBshttp://www.teresaudio.com/haven/friends/kens.htmlhttp://www.geocities.com/tadgesualdo/12trxbmanifesto.htmlI use them in the transmission line cab.
Tannoy-JBL question..
Jsujo, Off the topic, looking at your system setup, I would have kept the EV 12TRXBs and replace the MC40 with something better like 300B SET amps or even some more suitable EL84 Push pull amps. The MC40s seems to be bottom heavy to me. As far as ...
My experience with long ICs
Never blew but extremely loud noise since I used strictly tube gear.
My experience with long ICs
Hi Tonyptony,50 uf /10v+ axial load type should do the trick. You can get them from digikey. They're quite small like a resistor size.Used to have this issue with Counterpoint Preamp. This fixed was suggested by Mike Elliot and it did the trick.I'v...
My experience with long ICs
If you have a ground loop issue, I would add a by-pass capacitor from the female RCA ground on the preamp to the chasis of the preamp amp. This can help isolate the ground potential difference between your preamp and amp. Before you blew your amp,...
Silver speaker cable question
Jeffreybehr, off the topic. The real Spread Spectrum Technology I know is only for radio transmission in military , cordless phones and cell phones technologies.I think AQ just made up this buzz word.As far as using different size of conductors in ...
Silver speaker cable question
Jeffreybehr, since the topic is silver speaker cable question, I thought you were referring to audioquest silver cables.
Silver speaker cable question
Hi Howard,If you are using 11 total AWG for 6 ft lengh, you'll get the followingNominal NominalSpeaker amp DF8 8 4246 8 3184 8 212How can the DF be less than 200?What value did you put?
Silver speaker cable question
Hi Howard,Cable length: Just 6 feet for each cable you making and not 6 + 6.Speaker load: I don't think your speaker's nominal load is 8 Ohm. You should consider that impediance drop when the load increases. Some 8 Ohm speakers can go down below 3...
RM-4 vs. MCP-33
I have the SP-11 MK II and I also tried to test the RM-4 for the MC cartridge. The gain is too high that it doesn't work well with SP-11 unless you use super low output cartridge like .2mV. Make sure you have subsonic filter turn on when you use a...
Silver speaker cable question
Makes no difference to our setup seperate or twisted them togather. Keep in mind that they're fragile when twisted togather. You should find some way to reinforce it.I also use Stealth Audio pure silver spades.
