GMA Europa vs. Soliloquy 5.3?
Thought I'd chime in. I have the Soliloquy 5.3s. Room is 19 x 12 currently with opening to kitchen as well. Carpet. The 5.3s really do have an excellent sound stage and transparency in a way that reveals the music quite well. They are rated to 30 ...
Placement for Soliloquy speakers
Fascinating. In a house, would a room's ability to handle bass as alluded to above be changed by whether a door was open or closed? Standard door.If so better or less able?I've got the point there are a zillion variables. This is just in a house w...

How is this formula affected by lets open french doors in a study to a larger space or a door opening into a hallway. I am interested in your comments regarding lowest frequency that a room can accomodate. I hadn't consisdered that before but at t...
Placement for Soliloquy speakers
Mine are 3 feet from back wall, 6-7 feet apart with a 15 degree toe in or so in a 19 x 12 room with 9 foot ceiling for now ( moving this month). Carpet but some reflective surfaces with miniblinds and foyer tile floor ( small area). No complaints ...
I'm buying a plasma TV. Can I use my speakers?
Well I have some thoughts on this....I agree with what is said above; the splitter idea is not a good one. Also, using a pre/pro is the best way to do business.Your plasma has a wattage for the amp at about 16 watts. Check it. Interestingly, you c...
Best Plasma sony,pioneer.Panasonic ?
I have a Panny 42 inch plasma and consider it tops for DVDs. in dimly lit environs. However, I also agree that the Fujitsu has noticebly better PQ when viewing HD sources, particularly at the 42 inch size. For me, the money wasnt worth the differe...
Why dual subwoofers ?
Lej1447- I use two subs from one dedicated subout and split with a Y from the receiver, as well as a y on each sub cable to input to BOTH r and L inputs to each sub. I stack mine and I have a somewhat small room which enables me to do this. I am s...
Soliloquy and bad crossovers
Whew! I am relieved to hear all of this. Good work!
Soliloquy and bad crossovers
OK. Did a little snooping. There are pictures from 2001 clearly showing the tweeter above the drivers. In addition, 2004 was the first cabinet redesign in 5 years, at least according to the website, and the company formed in 1997. SO either you ha...
Soliloquy and bad crossovers
OK. I am gonna be dumb here; you say that the tweeter is below the bass drivers? Perhaps this is a VERY old model ( that might not be bad), but I have never seen any 5.3s other than a tweeter on top layout. SO here's my really dumb question- Are y...
Soliloquy and bad crossovers
Hi Cody. Sorry you are having frustration. With regards to biwiring, you need to first remove the jumpers. If the jumpers are not in place, you have a problem right there. I am going to assume you know what these are.In any case, as long as your p...
How much burn-in for Soliloquy 5.3s
Cody- Call Soliloquy and just give them the serial numbers of your speakers and express your concerns. They are honest good folk and will assist you. While there are some discussions about brightness etc of the speaker, these are detail personal p...
How much burn-in for Soliloquy 5.3s
JimD- Is that for the new "i" models or the older ones that Cody has?I believe that the wiring used has changed, but I am not sure.
How much burn-in for Soliloquy 5.3s
