You need to have the sub connected to a video display if you don't. Then you can easily see the settings and adjust the crossover frequency. I would also remove the stand from underneath. I would also let the mains run full range as Levy suggests....

Firewire can be added easily to most PC's. My Sony and one of my HP's have it. They have HDMI for audio and video too. I also like Media Center which is great for Netflix, movies, internet TV etc.

Are the fuses in the audio circuit path? Some(all should)keep the fuses out of the audio path.

VMPS(still in business)used to weight their sub drivers in the old days and recommended they be rotated occasionally. I don't know of any other manufacturer that did this.

Some of the weighted drivers from VMPS needed to be rotated occasionally. It's the cone that sags not the voice coil. I don't know if they are still around.
