Is Audio Research Mach II Ref II a good pre-amp? I own a Krell 600c and it really is a smooth amp with no bite. The Audio Research would work quite well with it but I think it is way overpriced. IMO the LS-25 is a better value and probably sounds just as good. It also allows you to set the gain ...
Sound Cards Yes, you can make as many digital copies as you want which is true of all pro models. Mine is an older model a CDR-630. You can get the newest model in single-well for less. J&R sells it for 479.00 I beleive. You can get a dual-well from them ...
CD Recorder I am inclined to agree, don't buy a consumer recorder. They are a major pain.
pioneer dv38a vs dv47 whats the difference? The 10AX was the one I was speaking of when I mentioned the 5000.00 model. And you are correct about the build quality of the 47 being inferior to the 38A.
Any Pink Floyd Fans out there ??? Have you listened to any Porcupine Tree yet? It's great stuff.
True Monoblocks vs Switchable Stereo to Mono Amps I'm not an expert on this but one difference is when you bridge an amp you at least double the power output but do not double the power supply. If an amp has a large enough power supply, this is not a problem. Often amps will not drive low impeden...
pioneer dv38a vs dv47 whats the difference? You are correct sir. The 47 is also an SACD Multi-channel machine. And unlike it's 5000.00 predecessor it does not mix down the SACD signal to PCM.
Mirage M-1 tweeter died, No longer stock. Help It would be rather expensive to purchase another pair of speakers just for replacement drivers and Mirage uses different size drivers for most of it's other series. I think you should take the tweeter out yourself and send it to Mirage for repair....
Any Pink Floyd Fans out there ??? Porcupine Tree is one of the best new bands you will ever hear if you like this type of music.
True Monoblocks vs Switchable Stereo to Mono Amps In most cases when stereo amps are switched to mono, they will not drive low impedence loads. This is not always the case though. If you will notice most of the time a companies monoblocks are actually two of their stereo amps run in bridged confi...
Mirage M-1 tweeter died, No longer stock. Help I don't quite understand, if the tweeter doesn't work, isn't your system already down? You can remove the tweeter yourself and send it to them. If it is a front tweeter, you can take one from the back and put it in the front and continue to use th...

Any Pink Floyd Fans out there ??? Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Roger Waters' live CD and DVD In The Flesh which has many Floyd songs and two of the best guitarists around in Snowy White(Thin Lizzy,White Flames, Pink Floyd,Peter Green) and Doyle Bramhall II. One of the best shows I...
Any Pink Floyd Fans out there ??? I have the one you are talking about. Mine is the original two CD version, the newer is only one CD. I also have The Moon Revisited by various artists on Magna Carta. I like it a lot but it is very close to the original. It has a very dynamic soun...
Technically Correct Subwoofer Settings..... If it sounds boomy, it probably is crossed over too high. My sub is crossed over at 63HZ. And it seems about right for my system. You may want to go lower. |
