Is impedence so important for a pick/phono combo? Hi Sid.....The Rhea is quite good and I am disappointed that I cannot hear it at home since this problem has occurred.I did speak to Jim White at Aesthetix (very nice man) and he told me that the unit that I had borrowed for the dealer is one of t...
Is impedence so important for a pick/phono combo? Good point Sid...however, I listened to my Helikon through the Rhea @ 47khtz also vs ARC PH3se and the Rhea was simply better at that load as well.
Is impedence so important for a pick/phono combo? Hey Doug....you're right! I also checked the Benz M specification I had and it was something similar!!
Is impedence so important for a pick/phono combo? Allow me to add some comments...first I want to say that I am no tech person but I understand TWL's response (I hope).I have had an opportunity, this weekend, to listen to the Aesthetix Rhea phono per-amp. This phono amp allows you to set load and...
Sonus Faber Amati Homage versus Vandersteen 5A My 2 cents.....I heard both the Vandersteen and Amati Homage. I preferred the Vandersteens by a wide margin. I was disappointed with the Amati's (and I heard them at two dealers). However, I am sure that with carful set up and electronics some of ...

Decca cartridge experiences No...the servos that I heard were in New Jersey and were owned by the great Jim Foley. He had a magnificent set up and a wonderful ear for listening. What a great experience that was!!!

Speakers to hang on to for LIFE Mikem....I have heard so much about the VR-7's but I have never heard them in person. Considering I live in the NYC area there really is no dealer in the 20 mile area. I also do not hear much chatter in the rooms about this speaker. I wonder why?
OK...I'm getting ready to buy a new Phono pre amp. Zaik....I like the PH 3se very much. Although the features in the Rhea are quit intriguing. I'd also like to add just a pinch of warmth (the ARC's are a hair light). However, you are totally correct. I plan to hear the Rhea in the system first!!! ...
OK...I'm getting ready to buy a new Phono pre amp. Good points Zaik and cmo.....I like the idea of on the spot and easy loading and gain setting. Although with my LS 25 and PH 3se I have a good amount of gain....possibly driving my Helikon with a bit more would help? I also have my PH 3se set at 4...
OK...I'm getting ready to buy a new Phono pre amp. Thanks Richardmr.....would I still need a pre-amp with either the Art Audio or the Hagerman? I am, believe it or not, considering an SACD. Besides, I use a reel to reel occasionally. I do, however, love the flexibility of the a phono pre amp like ...
the best amp to run the bass of infinity RS-1b's Hi Brian, I have also heard some folks doing away with the Infinity crossover. It gives me a little scare to do that although I get tempted now and then. I believe if you use another crossover (bryston, Dahlquist, Merchant) it negates the servo co...
