Uberwaltz,Good question.  I’m not sure I have a good answer.One reason is that the majority are in a hard to get at location.Another reason is I’m listening to a lot more CDs these days.Not enough time to do it all.

Can one ever be "done" in this hobby?
An audiophile will never be done.  The whole point of the hobby is to twiddle.Once you have reached stasis, you’re no longer an audiophile. 
Benchmark Preamps and Amp - For real?
The AHB2 is a spectacular amp to my taste. It brought a whole new dimension to my system: Triton 1 speakers, Conrad Johnson preamp.

I must have about 3000 records. Never got rid of any since the 1960’s.i have a couple of hundred that I go back to time and again.  Haven’t listened to the rest in a long time. 
Is it possible to have vinyl nearly noise free?
As a previous poster said, the older LPs sound best, and, I find, have fewer problems with ticks and pops.
