Cross over question "...Do you mean the built in EQ in the Marantz? That is off..."You are GTG! .
Cross over question "...Are the woofers in danger of damage with the crossover off?..."No they are not but depending on the equalizer settings you could drive the loudspeaker into clipping depending on how hard you play the system.
My stereo is haunted!! "...Use one preamp, one source and one power amp, to one pair of speakers..."Get down to a bare system to isolate the problem item.
Bad recordings and high end audio Daydream, I'm a big Maggie fan and love the 3.6/3.7s. But I'm not sure if that would be the right speaker for you. You'll have to pull them out 6 feet into the room and they will need lots of power, I'm thinking 250wpc minimum. You'll also want to...
Tube and Solid state "...The thought was to run six Cornwalls. Four from the Yamaha and two from the McIntosh..."No problem. Use a Y interconnect out of the Yamaha Pre-out. One pair of cables back into the Yamaha and one to the Mac. You may have a mismatch in volume y...

Listen, computers put out a ton of RF energy, you will have ...
Tube and Solid state You don’t have two amps. You have an integrated amp and a power amp. The proper way to do this in your application (driving one pair of speakers with two amps) is to use the integrated amp as a preamp. So the path is: Yamaha preamp out (split) to ...
Bad recordings and high end audio I don't know your budget but Parasound A21+ or Parasound JC1s are the direction you want to take. Match that with a good tube preamp. Cary, Conrad Johnson, perhaps an ARC. This will get you where you want to be.
Need HELP - getting static noise when using my tube preamp while computer is on... Are you using shielded cables?
Power cord supplied with Luxman L-509X Integrated Amp You have a pretty standard 2 prong cord. That means the amp is internally grounded and a ground wire is not needed. Nothing wrong with that. |
