Trying Analog Again - Sugg for $2K-$4K Budget?
I agree with the recommendation of a VPI Scoutmaster. I've listened to this 'table many times, and I'm always impressed by it. At the price, this 'table and arm combination is awfully difficult to beat. Stay with you current phono stage for now, a...
does anyone know about c-j premier 5 monos?
I agree with Avguygeorge's comments, as I emailed you offline.
Walker SST contact enhancer
Dave, as I understand the theory behind the Eichmann plugs and the new WTB RCAs, it's about reducing the amount of metal (and dielectric) in the connection more than reducing the contact area per se. There's a discussion of the design philosophy i...
Best of Audiogon Members
I can only echo the many names already mentioned. I've learned a lot from the members of this community, and I continue to enjoy the comraderie and pursuit of our shared obsession: music reproduced in the home in great sound quality. Without tryin...
Comment on this system.
Tabl10, I own Eidolons and think they are among the best speakers available. I've also been pretty impressed with the Wadia in systems in which I've heard it. But, I've never thought the Spectral/Eidolon combination made music, and I've never unde...

Atma-sphere M60 II.3-Any good for 4 ohm speaker?
711Smilin, what you see in the power output specifications of the M-60 into different impedance loads (power goes down as impedance goes down and up as impedance goes up) is characteristic of OTLs. (As contrasted to solid state where the reverse h...
Atma-sphere M60 II.3-Any good for 4 ohm speaker?
As you suggest, the Rendition Audio Monitor 60 is designed by Ralph Karsten; it's styling goes back to the earlier Atma-Sphere M-60 styling that Ralph always liked. The circuit is very close to the current M-60 MkII.3 but in a different chassis..
Rookie Pre Amp Question
Thanks Dave.
Rookie Pre Amp Question
Derek, just a question for clarity: did you intend to connect some of your speakers directly to the AVR 230 and some of your *other* speakers directly to your AVR 335?If so, then each set of speakers will be separately driven by each receiver and ...

Phatal, note that Avguygeorge has given you a good price target now. The Music Technology/Bill Thalman mods to C-J gear are always worthwhile, imo..
