SS integrated amp to drive Wilson audio sophia/WP7
The Wilson's are linear enough to not require "tell it like it is" components. That said, the Naim XS with a flatcap XS would be a damned good affordable solid state match with the Watt Pup's. You will be seeing more and more Naim/Wilson pairings ...
Wilson Sasha vs. Magico V3
LMAO... and the Magnepan's are nearly one trick ponies. I'm not trying to start a shit storm here but I couldn't help but get a kick from the above response! :)
Which Totem Speaker - 12'x14' room
Wow, I apologize for all the grammatical errors in the above response. Hopefully you managed to understand what I was trying to say. *Note to self: No more writing e-mails or posting on forums while I talk on the phone*
Which Totem Speaker - 12'x14' room
I'd go with the Forest. It's the most versatile of all the Totem's and should match well with both your Linn gear and the music you listen to. The only thing I would suggest is to make sure you can provide set the speakers out at least a foot and ...
Ayon, AMR, Karan, and Plinius Combos
I've been enjoying the 'simple' life, ie: few cables and boxes, for quite awhile now. There is certainly something to be said for great sounding simplicity. Of course, playing with toys on the level of Karan make simplicity all the easier to embra...
Which Totem Speaker - 12'x14' room
12x14 is a smallish space. Along with telling us the sort of music you listen to, could you also tell us what electronics you are using? That will help narrow things down a bit.
Smallest speakers that ROCK
Along with the already excellent recommendations, I'd like to throw in offerings from ATC and PMC. Other great options would come from the entire Mark and Daniel product line. They are a little known company whose main focus is building loudspeake...
In search of the right SS integrated amp
McIntosh MA7000 - another one to throw into the bucket. I honestly enjoyed this amp more than the Gamut, Rowland, Pass, and Boulder. These comparisons were done on large floorstanders, monitors, and a set of hybrid electrostatics. This is just my ...
The best small bookshelf speaker you ever heard?
In the ultra-compact category, I tend to enjoy the Mark and Daniel Maximus Mini. For just over $1200, this speaker is extremely resolving, sports great imaging, great build quality, good looks, and can deliver a sound that's far larger than its sm...
Karan amp experiences wanted
I might be able to help here, as I currently run a set of Wilson Watt Pup's and power them off of a Karan KA I-180 integrated. In a nutshell: Unless you are trying to fill a big room with 97 to 100+ db of sound, the Karan should have zero problems ...
best Integrated amp under 4000$
I know who Vince is. Anyways, I hope the combo works out for you.
best Integrated amp under 4000$
Bryston and Totem? You kinda went the complete opposite direction there. Man... that's a tough combo. Good luck.
best Integrated amp under 4000$
For a good match from both a power and tone perspective, I'd look into either the LFD Zero LE III, or the Blue Circle Audio DAR (or the FtTH if you can find one used). Both pieces will work sublimely with the Winds. Now, if you want a more "tell it...
H2O Audio Owners
Over a year ago, I had a chance to play with Henry's prototype version of the Fire. I still regard it as one of the best solid state pre-amplifiers I've happened across south of the 10k mark. It's worth noting that his Signature 100 amp is awesome....
Replacing Totems One's
Mr. Macgee,I apologize, as I didn’t realize you were referring to the original Model One’s. I thought the speakers you had were Totem’s 20th anniversary model dubbed “The One”. The name designation can cause some confusion, or at least for a guy l...
