SACD hybrids bad policy from Sony/Columbia?
The reason you don't see a hybrid SACD section at Tower Records is because they keep the hybrid SACD's mixed in with regular CD's and advertize them as "remastered CD's." That way -- the great unwashed buy them as remastered CD's while subsidizing...

Damn you, Jceisner, you made us engage in a discussion under false pretenses. This world will never be safe until people like you are rooted out and shown for what you are -- a discussion starter! The worst kind of participant to have on a discuss...

Mr. Campbell, perhaps you should write this down so you don't misquote me every time this debate pops up. I wrote that on *ONE* of my SACD's, The Rolling Stones' Let it Bleed, I prefer the MIXES on some of the CD tracks, but the SACD layer has bet...
Apple Ipod
It is not mandatory that you load the ipod with MP3's. The 40 gig ipod willhold about 100 CD's, UNCOMPRESSED. It will hold about 400 CD's using AAC at 320 kbps, which is pretty good sound for casual listening. I circulate music through my ipod UNC...
Living Stereo SACD's are a comin
Great news -- thanks!

Between Dweller, Diamond and I, you have empirical evidence that a segment of the music buying population is not wary of SACD's, we're wary of buying redbook CD's that will be obsolete the moment the SACD version is released.

The average citizen who might think DVD-A is the way to go because it has that new-fangled DVD right in the title so it must be high tech as all get out,is probably not the target customer or early adopter of high rez digital musicplayback. The ea...

Redbook for the long haul
Emm Labs. I'd get the Emm Labs because it is the best CD player out there.Take the SACD capability as a bonus.
Review: Emm Labs DCC2 DA converter
Tireguy -- Congrats on your DCC2. I am constantly amazed by my Dac6. I travel a bit in my line of work, so when I come home, I tend to enjoy long listening sessions. By the time I leave, I've become used to the Emm Labs' amazing sound. When I retu...
Any monitor audio studio se owners?
I own Studio 60's and studio 20's. Both excellent speakers, but for my taste, the 60's are flat-out amazing. Open, transparent, coherent. Combined with Levinson 436's, I get enough bass extension that I turn off the Sub-woofersduring music playbac...

It is nice that you finally revealed your REAL points, but I didn't see anyone making any of the arguments to which you refer. So, I not only think you are confused, I think your REAL points are non sequiters.

Golden -- I get the unfortunate sarcasm -- but, this is what you wrote,"This is the Home Theater category, not a place for anti-HT/2 ch.-only guys to post."So, you presented yourself as a little confused. So, when you are straightened out, respond...

SACD Opinions: Gimmick? Like it? Don't? Why?
There *is* a two box combination on the market. It is the Meitner Emm Labs Dac + transport. It comes in a two channel version or multi-channel. Its CD playback is second to none -- and it's SACD playback is even better. There's no contest. As amaz...
