High Efficiency Speakers Your top 3 or more
Living Voice speakers are easy to drive and work well with tubes, but not a good value IMHO. Distribution was never good in US and getting worse.
What to do next . . .?
Unsound, Agreed, I prefer the long wall too. The midbass energy should be greatly improved and the stage should be much wider. The Vandersteens don't like to be near side walls and with a 22' long wall there shouldn't be any problem there. The are...
Room treatment success story
One thing is for sure with room treatment, you cannot just ad room treatment the way someone else did because all rooms are different.
Room treatment success story
Inpieces, Closing your eyes helps you to concentrate on the sound without visual distractions. Eventually you will learn to concentrate as well with your eyes opened. This is also why many audiophiles like listening in the dark.
Who is using passive preamps and why?
Herman, What would you rather have? A system that hardly plays above a whisper at full volume or a system that plays loud at 9 o'clock? To say the requirements for passive and active are equal can be misleading to the unsuspecting Audiogon member ...
Room treatment success story
Side wall treatment is beneficial particularly if the room has a left/right imbalance. Front and back walls should follow the live end dead end theory. Preferably live end would be behind the speakers dead end behind the listening position. Clap y...

I have also had them since released. What a great talent and great music.
Who is using passive preamps and why?

Room treatment success story
Every room is different. I clap my hands and listen for the live areas in the room. An open fireplace between the speakers can be a problem area as it will cause an echo. A wall or other hard surfaces in close proximity to the listening position w...
Room treatment success story
Are you confused yet? ASC (Acoustic Sciences Corporation) is the original and IMHO still the best. RPG and GIK came later. Eventually all audiophiles realize the benefits of room acoustics and when compared to component upgrades room treatment is ...

Better sound from 6550 or kt88 tubes in Jadis amp?
It really depends on what the amplifier was designed to use. KT88 and 6550 tubes are not the same.KT88 tubes are what is known as a kinkless tetrode and the 6550 is a pentode. What was your amplifier designed with?
Another speaker placement question. HELP
Your speaker is too big for your listening area.
Rega Saturn or Sony SCD-XA5400ES ?
Is the Sony SCD-XA5400ES really an over-achiever? Has anyone compared it to much more expensive CD playback?
Room treatment success story
As I mentioned in a previous post. I think the rug on the hardwood floor is a good idea, but be carefull with room treatment. Too much and it will suck the life out of your amplifier.
