Rank Stereophile, & why no Von Schweikert reviews Sonance, Those graphs and measurments are absolutely worthless. The finest measuring gear ever made is on the sides of your head. This is what "The Absolute Sound" used to be about (say in the 1980's). They would plug a piece of gear into their re...
Best preamp is no preamp: always true? Intuitively the answer is Yes. However, in practice in ain't necessarily so I've found. My Wadia 6i will drive the ARC VT100 direct but I can truly detect no difference if I insert the ARC Ref 2. As a purist I wanted it to be better but I can't ho...
Rank Stereophile, & why no Von Schweikert reviews Sereophile is awful. The idea of 20 class "A" or "best" amps or whatever is ludicrous. Its all about money. TAS used to be wonderful 15 yrs. ago but HP,s cashing out also. Oh how I wish for the return of the old "Audio Critic".As for von Schweiker...

Used Preamp for $2000 to $3000 How about Audio Research? Wonderfully musical gear and great upgrade paths.
audio research ref 1/ ls-25 tube question newbie No, not at all, any 6922 will work. Having said that; high end audio is all about incremental improvements. The closer they are matched the better the gear sounds. |
