Agree with the Coincident Total Eclipse. Easy to drive and sounds great. Partial eclipse is great as well.

Review: CARDERSOUND NINA
A couple of months, ago I took a trip to Jeff's house to hear the speakers he builds. He is certainly a good guy, and he is making a speaker that is very good value for the money. I listened to the Madison in his basement for about 1 and a half ho...
Has anyone had success converting friends?
No, not really. My best friend was interested in a half-hearted way when we were younger, and he didn't have kids yet. He still listens to music while he does other things, but he couldn't care less about the equipment any more. As far as other fr...
The best hifi magazine?
Overall, I would have to say that I like Hi Fi+ best. The reviews run pretty long at times, but I think that the reviewers, like Roy Gregory for example, really try to give you a feel for the way the component sounds. I usually feel like I have a ...
6SN7 tube GTA vrs GTB
I am not sure of what you consider "royally expensive", but I think I agree. I just paid $60.00 each for NOS Sylvania 6SN7s that are supposed to be "the" thing. I hope that they are worth it when they arrive.
Jazz artists for late starter.
I enthusiastically recommend Stan Getz and Oscar Peterson.
Review: Spendor SP-100 Speaker
I wanted to update those who may have read this review in the past. Last August, I answered an ad on Audiogon for a pair of Spendor 9/1 speakers which are essentially a floorstanding version of an SP100. They share the same drivers, but the cabine...
speakers for classical music
I have to say that demos at shows by Richard Shahinian of the Diapasons with classical music were extremely convincing. The sound really captured the majesty and weight of the orchestra. I never really heard anything that equalled what they could ...

From one who has owned several different Macs for over 30 years, I will guess that you won't be having them serviced much-if ever.I bought 2 used. Great Amps.

Dynaudio Sapphire vs Revel Studio2
The advantage of the off-axis behavior of the Revels may not be an advantage if you are usually listening by yourself. The other thing to consider is the type of music that you listen to. You mention the Dyn being better for jazz- does that make u...
Efficient floorstndrs. to reach above furniture
Coincident Partial Eclipse or Total Eclipse if you can fine a pair for 4 grand. Both sound great, are very efficient, and I don't see a need to buy a new amp. Good Luck.
